One of the better ranges of panty liners

I like to use a panty liner throughout the month just to help make me feel fresh and clean and one of the better ones I have tried over the years are from the Carefree range. Carefree make a huge array of different types of liners for your knickers but the better ones are the laundry fresh range. I buy these in packs of 20 from Wilkos, where they seem to be the cheapest around - even cheaper than Tescos at the moment at only £1. A pack this size will last me a whole month as I use one per day during the month whenever I am not on my period.

These are panty liners and NOT sanitary pads and as such, they are much thinner, shorter and a lot more discreet than your normal standard sanitary pad. They have no 'wings' and are designed to sit firmly, snugly and in place on the inside of your knickers. Each pad is individually wrapped and has a sticky strip down the middle. The sticky strip is very effective and the liners do not move around my underwear, even if I am very active throughout the day.

These pads feel soft to touch and do not irritate or chafe my skin. They have also been dermatologically tested and to be honest, they are so discreet that I often just forget I am wearing one during the day as I go about my business. It's not until I pop to the loo that I remember I am actually wearing one.

They are shaped so that they sit perfectly over the gusset of my pants (even my skimpier ones) and they stay in place throughout the day and don't move about. I wear these panty liners with a variety of clothing, including lose fitting dresses and skirts but I also wear them with tighter fitting clothing such as jeans and leggings and they are very discreet and cannot be seen.

Overall, I am really happy with these particular panty liners and I think they represent excellent value for money and give me a little bit of extra freshness throughout the day.

      CareFree Pantyliners
At the end of the time of the month when it is not heavy enough for a towel, but you need some protection, and for times when you want some added freshness, I use Carefree panty liners.

      =Carefree Range=
Carefree has a wide range of panty liners, the ones that I am reviewing is laundry fresh design. The basis is that even though you are wearing a panty liner your skin feels like you have freshly laundered underwear on.

      =Design=
The package in this is a purple plastic wrapper, which has the carefree name and the type of liner on the front of the packet, whilst on the reverse there are details of the company, the address to write to in case of complaints.

      =The Liners=
The liners are designed as being breathable and are dermatological tested.

      =Price and Availability=
The carefree range can be brought in many retailers such as Superdrug, Boots and supermarkets, they are available in packs of 20 and above, with pricing starting at around £1.

      =Discreet=
These panty liners are extremely discreet, they can be stored in your make up bag, in your handbag, no-one needs to be none the wiser, and they are also discreet to wear.

      =One Size fits all=
The panty liners are generally all one size, although you can purchase the longer length ones.

      =Wearing=
At first I was a bit dubious as to whether they would stick in my underwear, be comfortable, would they move, as they do not have wings, and a stick strip down the middle of the liner, but I am pleased to say I was worried over nothing, they are comfortable, they stay put, and do the job.

The panty liners have a soft feeling to the top of the liner, and they are gentle against the skin. They fit well if you're wearing, trousers, skirts or jeans.

      =Tampons=
You can use these when you're wearing a tampon if you want a bit of extra security, which I have done in the past, although I don't get on with tampons.

      =Leakages=
These are not designed for heavy bleeding or a leak of you have a cough or a sneeze, they just give a general freshness and I would say a sense of security.

      =Would I recommend=

I would highly recommend the carefree range, I personally like the cotton fresh, as it feels fresh against my skin. I don't use them every day, but a box will last a couple of months.

      =Disposal=
When you have finished with the liner you can use the wrapper from the next one to dispose of within a sanitary bin, or a rubbish bin. I dispose of mine within a nappy bag or a sanitary bag.

      a sensitive subject..

*Note that this review discusses sensitive, lady business and the lovely men on here may wish to look away lol*

      ~Carefree Pantyliners~

Carefree is a range of pantyliners. A pantyliner is designed to be stuck to your underwear to keep you fresh 'down there'. The Carefree range of pantyliners is quite extensive but not to the same extent as leading brand Always. There are different sizes and thicknesses available. I will be focussing my attention on the Carefree pantyliners with cotton extract.

These pantyliners are presented in a pink box and each liner is individually wrapped. These pantyliners are marketed as giving the feeling of wearing cotton underwear. They are unscented but an scented version is available. They are described as being breathable and are dermatologically tested.

      ~Price and Availability~

Carefree pantyliners are available from supermarkets and stores such as Boots and Wilkos. Current prices for the cotton version are as follows :

      *Boots - £1.05 (20pk) or £2.79 (58pk)
      *Tesco - £1.00 (20pk) or £1.85 (34pk)

      ~My Thoughts~

Since having my son nearly five years ago, things down below have never quite returned to normal - I'm sure many woman can relate. It isn't pleasant but I have learned to live with it. When I confided in my Mum, she recommended using pantyliners to keep me feeling fresher on a day to day basis or as and when I felt I needed them. I use tampons during my time of the month but these are more suited to keeping me fresh the rest of the month.

These pantyliners are easy to transport due to being wrapped individually. They are practical and discreet to use compared to large, bulky sanitary pads that I had to wear as a teenager or after having my son. Each pantyliner is neatly folded and features a flower design tab over the sticky area. They fix neatly into my underwear and do not look bulky. They stick well and remain secure even if I am doing exercise or general household chores. They do not have wings and they are a one size fits all product though bigger pantyliners/pads are available in this range.

These pantyliners have a soft surface which is very gentle against sensitive parts and have no scent - no irritation there. They are slim and I can't really tell that I am wearing them. These liners suit my needs well but I do prefer Always as I feel they have a better fit in my underwear. These pantyliners aren't suitable for heavy bleeding or leakages. They are perfect for keeping me fresh and clean feeling down there and absorb any light leakages. I use them during the heavier days of my period alongside a tampon 'just in case' and also when I think Mother Nature is gone but I'm not certain. The ladies will know what I mean! They are breathable and comfortable to wear.

      ~Conclusion~

These pantyliners perform well at keeping me feeling clean and fresh. They are comfortable to wear and easy to change as and when I need to change them through the day. They can be wrapped up again and disposed of in a sanitary bin or with regular rubbish. I find a box lasts me a month or so as I don't always feel the need to wear them. They give me a bit more confidence when out and about and I can recommend them to those who need a little extra protection and aren't expensive either.

      Thanks for reading :)

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

An okay liner for the price

Anyone who has had a baby will know bout bleeding for several weeks after birth. Mine is now thankfully near an end and so I only need to use pantyliners now rather than thicker pads. Whilst doing my weekly shop in Tesco I was going to pick up some pantyliners when I noticed these Carefree cotton pantyliners were on offer at 2 for £1, and although I had never tried this brand I felt it was worth a shot at that price.

The Carefree range of sanitary products comes in a vibrant pink packaging and I'm quite surprised I had never noticed them on the shelf before. I purchased two packs of the cotton liners, each with 20 individually wrapped liners in a box. As well as containing natural cotton extract these liners are also breathable, which should in theory, make you feel comfortable and fresh as if are just wearing fresh cotton against your skin.

These liners are wrapped in a little pink pocket that makes them small and discreet enough to carry in a pocket or handbag. Each liner has a flowery backing sheet which is peeled back to reveal a sticky adhesive strip which you then attach to your underwear. This is where I felt the product lagged behind other brands as I found the backing strip hard to remove from the actual liner and was certainly not something you could do in a rush. When I eventually get the strip removed it attaches well to my underwear and is also easily removed when finished with.

The other criticism I have of the product is that I find it can hard and rigid compared with many of the softer and more flexible liners of other brands. It isn't that the liners are uncomfortable its just that they are rather hard in my opinion.

In terms of keeping me fresh during the day, well I find that they do this reasonably well although despite at times there being little blood loss on the liner I am aware that it is there and I need to change it, which with other brands they sometimes keep you so fresh and dry that you can sometimes forget to change a liner.

All in all these liners aren't bad value for money and at the end of the day they are ideal for what they are being used for and ultimately put in the bin anyhow! There are better brands of liners available so they aren't the best on the market, nor are they the worst!

          A great product I'd recommend

Debating how much detail to put into this review and have decided a little bit of detail is needed (sorry!). I have an allergy problem and this can include sensitivity around my "lady bits". I like to be able to choose to wear a panty liner - especially useful at the light flow end of a period - butI was struggling to wear any brand as i was proving sensitive to the scents on the product. I tried Carefree Pantyliner breathable and was really impressed. Not only do they have a good absorbency, they also don't contain the "nastys" that I seem to be having an allergic reaction to. I have bought this product ever since. Although the wrapper isn't exactly environmentally friendly it's cute enough and becuase it is plastic coated it can be shoved in the deepest darkest places of a handbag and still stay clean and fresh.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Very good little liners for that monthy time...

I have recently been stocking up on personal hygiene and sanitary protection as I seemed to have run out of everything at once...

I know some people get embarrassed about this type of product but like everything else it is valuable to have a user's opinion of such items so I'm gong to write about what I think of Johnson & Johnson's stuff :)

These 'Carefree Breathable Panty liners' are made in Italy and are 'Scented' although I can't find anywhere on the box what the scent in that is mixed into the slender pad?

I paid one pound for these on special offer so at 5p each item that's not bad for something that's just going to get flushed away anyway!

The cardboard box is pink and pretty, decorated with flowers and there is a little bit of information, one bit being that the liners are single wrapped.

'Feel clean and fresh everyday' J&J state, and there is also a list of their other panty liner products on the back of the box including aloe vera but I haven't tried those yet.

On opening the box there is a faint smell of something nice and on first opening a plastic pink wrapper tint pad you can smell the fragrance even more. It's only delicate and smells like a flowery talc so they must add that for added odour protection.

I wear panty liners when I'm due on my period plus when I'm finishing for extra peace of min d and protection.
These are so small I just carry several around with me at those times of the month in a purse that I keep for this purpose.

The pads themselves are really soft and shaped to fit more comfortably and have little flower imprints down each side.
They are made of what looks like a very strong tissue paper and a thin strip of liner underneath the outer shape.

The liners are white and seem very strong but you can't tell until you use them of course.

I found them to be very effective, very strong and tear resistant. They don't hold much liquid of course but they are designed to protect your underwear which they do very well.

Easy to flush after use or pop in a bin in public loos they are simple to dispose of.

Five stars for affordable protection that is a monthly necessity - I think these are very good!

A very good, efficient and reliable product.

            What are they?
            ***********
Panty liners used in feminine hygiene care.

            Special features?
            *************
Carefree panty liners are designed to be ultra slim to ensure invisibility. Designed to be breathable and flexible, giving a comfortable carefree, clean and fresh feeling.

Carefree make five different varieties of the liner; 'Flexiform' - fits with whatever underwear is worn, be it briefs, bikini bottoms or a thong. 'Perfect Fit' is designed to be extra slim and flexible. 'Large Maxi' offers large sizing to ensure maximum protection. As well as larger sizing, 'Long Plus' offers a longer length coverage. Both the 'Large Maxi' and 'Long Plus' offer up to 12 hours of odour control. And lastly, there is the standard size Carefree liner with 'Cotton Extracts', which offers a natural cotton-like feeling, almost imitating your own underwear.

All the varieties are available either scented or without, and exclusively the Cotton Extracts liner also comes in with integrated aloe vera.

            Results?
            *******
Along with the top-leading brand names I think that Carefree are one of the better brands on the market. I have never had any problems using their liners. They are very absorbent and their breathable feature also helps to maintain better health and hygiene. Most importantly, I find them very comfortable and non-restrictive - the ones with the most natural and comfortable feel are probably the liners with the cotton extract, they both soft, comfortable and feel very flexible - generally, it is unusual to even notice that they are there.

Both the unscented and unscented versions are equally competent. The scented versions have a fresh floral fragrance, though this is appropriately very mild so generally not very noticeable to the outsider. The unscented version works just as hard with its odour protection system so even without the added fragrance there is adequate protection.

Another notable feature, where each liner is individually wrapped separately. This, I feel is a necessity - of course, to ensure the hygiene integrity of each liner. Carefree are one of the very few brands to do this for nearly all of their liners. Personally, I feel this should be applied across all brands, but then there is always going to be an issue of increased costs.

            Cost?
            ****
Around 99p for a packet box of 20 liners. I find Carefree generally a little cheaper than the other leading brands.

            Overall?
            ******
I would recommend Carefree as they are not only value for money but most importantly very effective for what it does. The name of the brand is very apt for these liners, you need never need to worry or think about them as these simply allow you to be carefree with whatever you do.

            Thanks for reading. xx

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            a great product

Care free panty liners each come individually wrapped in little plastic wrappers very similar to the way sanitary towes do, inside each little wrapper you have one panty liner which is very thin indeed, much thinner than i was expecting it to be, they are shaped perfectly to fit into the gusset of your underwear providing you are not wearing thongs and have a sticky strip on the bottom to secure them in place.

The outer packaging advertises that they are breathable which is completely true as there is no plastic backing on these like on other sanitary products instead you have a backing of absorbent paper.

These are very comfortable to wear as they are so thin and feel like cotton next to your skin, they wont dry your skin out as they are breathable so will not sweat your skin and are fantastic for every day use, the only thing i dont like about these is the fact that they are scented. For a lot of people this will be an added advantage as it will mask any odours but i find that it irritates my skin slightly as my skin is very sensitive, not so much that i wouldnt use them but i would prefer them unsented.

They are realatively cheap to buy aswell at around £1 a pack that will last you a whole month.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

recently found a sample of Carefree Perfect Fit Pany Liners in a magazine. As I am always one for a freebie, I thought I would try them. Each panty liner is in a little pink envelope type packet.Carefree has a white logo states that their panty liners are 'Breathable for Everyday freshness'. Carefree are made by Johnson and Johnson so you can asured of the good quality but I was in for a bit of a shock with these ones . Panty Liners are renowned for being cardboard like and uncomfortable to wear. I personally hate them, but needs must!! I opened the sample pack and expected to find one item but no, there were three.I was a bit shocked as the three together still seemed paper thin! I took an individual one and look sat it. A pretty floral design of daisy covered the surface, in white of course, in the shape of the gusset of your nickers. When wearing white nickers the liner would be invisible! The backing strip is a blotting paper consistency, not the ususal plastic sheet type, which is peeled off to reveal the sticky strip for attachment. The liners stay attached in position fort he full use. They stay in place without ruckling up. They move just like you pants! The actual liner itself is so so soft. I couldnt believe it. It feels almost felt like. It has no sharp edges and it is very fabric like. The best way to describe it is that it feels like cotton nickers!!! Although Carefree do not state the exact fabric used, they do say it is 'revolutionary!' The liner fits exactly to the shape of the nickers, well mine anyway. ANd as I said, you can forget about it until it needs to be changed! When I put the liner on, it did not feel any different to having nothing on at all. It is so soft that you reduce the risk of soreness. But you can feel fresher! Remembering that this is only a panty liner, there is little absorbtion factor. It just keeps you a bit fresher in those days inbetween. As they
are paper thin, they would withstand any excess fluids. Another great aspect of these liners is that they dont make you sweat, therefore reducing the risk of rubbing and soreness. Suitable for use all month round. Although they are thin, it is recommended that you do not flush them down the toilet. As how long they keep you fresh. It is recommended that you change them every 4 - 6 hours or as necessary to avoid risks of infections such as thrush etc. Prices range from around £1.50 - £2.00 for twenty to £3.50 for 50 so not too badly priced, but I always begrudge paying for items like this!! (Scrooge, I know!!) But I will definitely buy some next time I need them!! I dont think think that they are badly priced because the panty liners are really like none I have ever seen before! I will definitely be buying them!! Sorry men, this wasnt a review for you but hope its helped some women out there!!!! Thanks for reading. Kerry xx

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

I have never aired my dirty laundry in public. I really hope no one I actually know is reading this opinion as it is about feminine hygiene products. Yes I know this word is going to make all grown men panic and run away as the thought of hearing about these is about as horrible as their favourite football team going don the dumper or their local being turned into a trendy juice bar. Ask a man to nip down to Boots and buy some Tampax and he will run a mile! I know Duskman finds the thought of periods and all that horrible woman?s stuff repulsive. Anyway the product being given the Dusk treatment today will be Carefree laundry fresh breathable Panrty Liners! What are they? These are very thin adhesive white cotton wool pass that women stick in their knickers to keep themselves nice and fresh. They normally come in boxes of twenty and they can be bought in any good chemist, drugstore, supermarket and even some corner shops for about £1.09 What do they look like? The box is very nice lavender and inside you get twenty little black and white spotted packages. I do like them individually wrapped for hygiene reasons and it does make them easier to pop a spare one in your bag. However if one fell out of these tastefully decorated packages fell out of your bag I think most people would still guess what it was. On unwrapping the little polka dot packages which is fairly easy to do you reveal a white towel. It is very slim and about six inches long and about two to three inches wide. They fit nicely in normal pants but I am not sure about G strings. I do not wear them. I like nice comfy pants but do not worry I do not like granny pants as I do have some very nice sheer lacy numbers for Duskman?s eyes only!! When are they useful or? Here is one of my other little personal secrets. I use tampons during my period. I hate sanitary towels as I hate the bulk and always feel so self conscious. However I do use panty liners just
before I am expecting my period and towards the en when the flow is very very light and I do not want to use tampons. Are they comfortable? Yes they are very comfortable. You hardly notice them at all. They also usually stick well in place so they do not move about. Are they reliable? I have never had any problem with them. However they are not sanitary towels and are only for very light flow or just in case times not for full on periods. What about the Laundry Fresh bit? Carefree are scented. This is so that you smell lovely and sweet. They do actually live up to their name as they do smell of washing just after it has dried as they have that smell of fabric conditioner and washing powder. I think I am reassured that they do smell nice as I am paranoid of bang a bit whiffy down there. I am actually not too bothered about brands. I tend to buy what is on special offer but I do like carefree. They are comfortable and I am reassured by the nice smell of them. I hope no men have been psychologically scarred or scarred after reading this op!

                  Disadvantages

Well over the months I have told you all about my hysterectomy and my problems with depression so I suppose it’s no time to get all embarrassed at the mention of panty liners! I always use Carefree Panty Liners and have done now for many years. I have tried various other similar brands, especially when I have seen them on special offer, but I have always come back to Carefree. Quite simply they’re the best I’ve tried! I use panty liners every day for comfort and for freshness. I am 46 now and have had a hysterectomy, so I guess the hot flushes I’m feeling signify the early onset of the change. I find the Carefree Panty Liners help me to feel secure about any small amount of discharge I might get. They are absorbent, comfortable, and discreet enough to fit under the closest fitting outfit. They have a good adhesive backing so they stay in place well. They come in various guises - ordinary, laundry fresh, individually packaged etc. so there’s one that will suit your needs exactly. I always keep a wrapped one in handbag in case of emergencies. They are easy to dispose of too. You can either tear the edge, so that the seal of the liner is broken and then flush down the toilet, or wrap them and place them in the bin. The outer wrapping flushes away easily too. By the way I would suggest that you always tear the edge of these and any other flushable towels to break the seal before flushing away, otherwise they may fill with water and block the drain. They are a little bit more expensive than some of the others are so I wait until they are on offer and I stock up! Tesco’s, Asda and Boots have them on offer regularly so keep your eyes open for the special offer signs. There you are then – you know how I stay fresh as a daisy!
