Advantages: No smell, colourless, doesn't stain clothes
Disadvantages: Doesn't work like the packaging says
I had some Boots vouchers spare, need some condoms and spotted Durex's Play range. I'm not a massive fan of lubes. They always seem to dry me up but my boyfriend said oooh lets get some so I relented. No clue why he picked the Feel bottle but he did. So in the basket, it went. Then lots of blushing at the till and off home.
It's buy one get one free on selected Durex items in Boots at the moment. No clue how long it will last. The vouchers paid for everything that day so technically it was free but if you're just buying it, it's £3.55 for a 50ml. It's also available in 100ml bottles. I've seen it in Boots for £5.55.
Other products in the Play range are Play Tingle, Heat, Sensations (a packet of different lubes testers so to say), 2 in 1 massage and Play Vibrators (only available in Superdrug).
The packaging is nice and plain though I would say that it's more male-orientated (since I wouldn't have picked that one). It doesn't massively stand out and by just glancing at it wouldn't think it was lube at all. The bottle has a light blue colour with white writing on it.
The design of the bottle is fairly simply. You twist the pump to open and press down as many times as you need to get the lube out. Then just twist the pump back, to lock it shut but if you're thinking about using it in the throws of passion leave it unlock as it's just off putting having to open it again, believe me.
Press the pump, a little bit of the lube squirted out. Do that until you have enough for your pleasure. It took us just two average pushes on the pump to get enough for both of us but when the bottle is half full a few more times of pressing is required.
The lube is colourless, doesn't smell and doesn't taste of anything. Though, it does have a chemical aftertaste. The bottle says 'light silky lube' and I do agree. The texture is almost like a hair gel when first put on your hands but it feels less sticky than hair gel would. It's cold to the touch but of course, it warms with use and the gel becomes more liquid. Almost, silky smooth. It's not one bit greasy and very easy to wash off yourself or any clothing it might come in contact with.
You can use Feel Play or any other Play products with condoms but it doesn't contain spermicides and it definitely not a contraceptive so make sure that you use other methods of contraception.
It says on the bottle that you have to use it in 3 months from opening. I don't know how true that is. Maybe it's because bacteria can grow in it or the product would less effective after a period of 3 months. The bottle must be kept at room temperature in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.
On the package, it says 'your partner's touch will immediately feel more far more sensual and intense but is this true?
In our case, no. It felt slippery when my boyfriend put on my erogenous zones but I ignored that and tried to stay in the mood. So I wait and wait for this sensual and intense sensation to come. It didn't for either of us but to be honest, it worked better for him than it did for me as he said that it felt nice. Still, it was quite disappointing for both of us consider when expected a little more from this product but maybe we were expecting too much but not only did it disappoint. It completely dried me up after 5 minutes, any pleasure and fun was put to one side. It kind of ruined the night. We have tried it on a couple of occasion like for massaging and found that it dried out too fast so maybe it's not just me but just product, drying everything out too fast.
Do I recommend it? No, I don't unless you get a free sample of it and can test it out for yourself. £3.55 is too much to spend on a lube that promises you a more sensual and intense feeling and delivers nothing but disappointment and dryness. Maybe I need more stimulation and should try Heat or Tingle in the Play range but I'll definitely never buy this again, free or not!
