Advantages: Works well as a basic lube, not messy

I've never really used lubes before, partly because I don't really need them, and partly because the idea to me just seemed like adding more messiness. However, when I spotted the Durex Play range on a half price offer a few months back I decided to give them a go and snapped up 3 different types for £2 each.

This was the first one I tried as it's basically just a 'normal' lubricant with nothing extra added to it. It comes in a rather nice looking bottle with a press top dispenser at the top. I found with all 3 of the lubes that I bought, all with the same bottle just in different colours, it was really difficult to unlock the dispenser so that I could start using it. All you have to do is twist the top of the bottle to unlock it, but for some reason they just refused to come open for ages and I actually quite hurt my hands trying to do it.

After eventually getting the dispenser unlocked it's really easy to use. One press of the top gives you a nice amount of the lube for what I would call 'general use'. Obviously if you want to cover a larger area then more lube will be required.

The lube is quite thin in texture, but without being runny. It has a lovely silky smooth feel to it and is not sticky, thick or greasy feeling. It glides onto and over skin, or whatever else you may decide to apply it to, and doesn't drip everywhere or make any kind of mess at all really. It's safe to use with condoms and is water-soluble so it washes off very easily with just a little water.

This lube does feel really nice and it gives plenty of lubrication, lasting well so that you don't need to keep reapplying it. It's a very light formulation so you don't really notice it on your skin once you've applied it. On the bottle it says that this lube should make your or your partners touch feel more sensual and intense, but I found it didn't make any difference at all in that sense. It provided a bit of extra lubrication but that's as far as any benefits went.

We've used this a few times now and whilst I and my partner both like the feel of it and the fact that it isn't messy, we both agree that it doesn't really do anything to heighten the pleasure, so we won't be buying it again.
