We spotted the range of durex play whilst shopping in Sainsbury's. Strangely they were displayed on the bottom shelf touching the floor!
It was on Buy One Get One Free offer so we bought all of them!
The product comes in a 50ml red plastic bottle with a pump lid. Actually it is not a red bottle but an opaque bottle covered with a red label.
On bottom of bottle is states Made in Thailand & shows the expiry date.
On one side of the bottle is the name of the Product - durex Heat light silky lube & the amount contained (ours is 50ml ).
On the other side is the description - smooth on a little lube & you'll feel heightened sensitivity. Blow and it'll gently heat your skin making the sensation even more intense.
How to use - Twist pump to open, smooth a small amount wherever you like & reapply as often as you need. Blow gently to enhance the warming action.
PlayHeat personal lubricant is ideal for use with Durex condoms & can be applied to the condom when it is already on. However it is not a contraception & does not contain spermicide. A it is water soluble it can be easily washed off with water.
Avoid contact with eyes. Some users may experience irritation when using this product. If this occurs discontinue use & if the irritation persists contact a doctor.
Store at room temperature, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Use within 3 months of opening.
Have you explored the other play products? Why not experiment with Feel or Heat for added enhancement?
Safe to use with condoms.
Use & experiences
The bottle says on the back label 'Why not experiment with Feel or Heat for added enhancement?' I presume this could mean trying all products together perhaps on different parts at the same time. There a re various offers online for buying a pack of three kinds from £11.99 ebay.
The play Heat lubricant we are talking about here is £3.49 at Amazon but cheaper at supermarkets and as we found often on BOGOF, so you could perhaps get 4 bottles for around £6 max! There is also the added bonus that you don't actually have to ask for it, just pop it in your trolley & it probably doesn't even get noticed when you pay for it amongst your groceries!
It is suitable for both sexes to use.
Safe to use with condoms.
The top was awkward to open (when new there was a plastic seal that needed to be ripped off first) & if you are not careful could ruin the mood the same as having to stop to put a condom on.
When you have finished, it is difficult to seal the pump lid so that no lube escapes the bottle. I keep it in a plastic bag with the others in case of spills if it tips or is knocked over & the bottle & bag are always greasy/wet. It is quite runny which would explain this.
Water based so easy to wash off your body or your sheets or towels. It claims to be non greasy & non sticky, but you still feel like a good shower afterwards.
As a lubricant for intimate purposes rather than for body massage , you might just as well use KY Jelly or the cheaper Boots own make alternative.
For the purpose of this review I have just shaken the bottle well & applied to the inside of my wrist. Five minutes later there is absolutely no effect whatsoever (apart from I have made the desk greasy!) It's possible it may have gone over the 'use after 3 months of opening', but I wouldn't have thought that would make much difference. It is still within the use by date.
to be honest, it was a real disappointment. He couldn'tfeel a great deal different, and although I could it just felt... odd. The kind of odd where it made me concentrate on the oddness rather than him. It was alright, but certainly not as exciting as it sounded.
what put me off *completely* was the after-effects...i didnt wash it off before we went to sleep, so it meant that wherever the lube had been on my skin was so sticky that i got a massive rash between my legs where they rubbed together as i slept (just on the outside though, rest assured!). Although I had wiped most of it away, it didnt seem to get rid of the stickiness. I suppose it would be ok if you were going to wash everything off straight away, but if you like to fall asleep together without running off to the bathroom, give this one a miss.
To be sure before you spend a fiver on a big bottle, it might be worth getting the little sachets first to make sure it suits you both :)
Durex Play Heat Lubricant
Description: Intensify your pleasure!
Mr Siamese and I like to try new things to help to keep our sex life fresh and exciting so when we saw this in a local chemist recently, we picked up a bottle to see what it was like. Lubricants are not really something that I buy very often, but because this one promised warm and intensified pleasure, it certainly seemed worth trying!
A 50ml bottle of this product will cost you around £4.50 and can be found in most chemists and some supermarkets too. It comes in a pump action bottle which is easy to use. The lubricant can be safely used with condoms too.
The bottle has a red plastic label on it and the Durex logo on the front. It states that once opened, the lubricant should be used within three months.
The idea with this lubricant is that you apply it (it is suitable for men and women) and then blow gently on it to activate the heat. We duly applied the product and then I set Mr Siamese to the task of blowing gently. I must admit that this was a little ticklish so my squirming was more down to that than the heat sensation!
I found that the lubricant was a little thinner than I had expected, so when applying it, it covered a bigger area than I had planned for. This was okay but if you didn't like the sensation, then it is worth watching out for.
The product did go a little warm but if I am honest, it wasn't particularly sensational. It was an okay lubricant of you need one but if you are expecting some kind of earth shattering feeling them you are likely to be disappointed. I think that on reflection, I prefer the Tingle one that Durex do, because that offers more of a sensation.
If you need a lubricant which may make you a little warm, then this is worth trying. If you are able to achieve your own warmth then you may find this one a let down - must try harder Durex!
The first thing that I noticed was that it wasn't as viscous as other lubes I have tried however thought I might give it a go.
The lube heats up nicely, it isn't too hot but you can definitley feel that it is there. Although it has a nice feeling (kind of) I'm not sure this is the right feeling you should be having... if you know what i mean?! The warmness felt a bit weird when.. well you know.. and wasn't sure if i liked it or not.
However, when it is blown upon the heat increases (again, not too much) which was ok but not amazing. My boyfriend also said it wasn't as good as the product is made out to be. We also tried the tingle which was a disaster, so this was an improvement on that one. It is quite cheap so might use it again but not really something that I would recommend to people as it sounds a lot better than it is.
Durex Play Heat Lubricant is designed for using in the bedroom department to enhance satisfaction and pleasure.
A 50ml bottle is available from Boots for around £3.79 and they frequently have special offers such as buy one get one free on them so it's worth keeping your eyes peeled and stocking up on the various products available.
The bottle is plastic and has a twist top and this is designed to keep the product from leaking when it is turned but I found this to be a little difficult to use, every time I shut this it still seemed to be open and if this was left laying in the bedside drawer it would leak out.
The product is suitable for use with condoms and can be used when the condom has already been put on so there is no need to worry about putting it on first.
It is quite a thick liquid and a couple of presses on the pump is all that is required to get an ample amount. This can be applied to men or women and does give a warming feeling instantly. I would advise just using a small amount at first to check that the sensation is one for you. The warming feeling will really heighten the senses and it provides immense pleasure for both man and woman. It does not have much of a scent to it and it is water based so can be easily washed off.
I have enjoyed using this product in the past but it is something that we would only use occasionally for something different. My other half is less of a fan than I am but he still finds it to be quite enjoyable. I think that it is quite a good product for the price that we paid and it did add something different to a night in the sack but I definitely wouldn't want to use it every time. I am therefore rating this product 3/5.
Durex Play Heat Lubricant is a reliable product that does wha it is intended for and provides that extra bit of lubrication when using condoms. It comes in a 50ml bottle with a red plastic surround and an easy to use pump at the top. It is nice and small and with a simple design that works really well. To lock the pump you give it a twist to ensure it does not go off accidentally in your hand, pun intended ;). It retails in the £3.95 range however occasionally it will be on offer so it is worth keeping an eye out for these.
The idea is that the lubricant as wel as lubricating will also add some heat as well when it is blowed upon, to be honest I have not really noticed any major difference to the other lubricants in the range. It is a bit runny and you do have to be careful with how much you pump out otherwise it gets everywhere.
As far as lubrication goes then it works well and lasts for a long time however the heat aspect is negligable based on my experience, a slight tingle maybe but for me there was nothing noticeable, having said that maybe we did not blow hard enough who knows. In comparison to other lubricants it works pretty good however it is a bit more runny and so I felt it was a bit messy however it can be used with condoms which is good.
Durex have a whole range of these 'play' lubricants and I've probably tried them all! This one i think i picked up when there was an offer on in a store with buy a 12 pack of condoms and get a lubricant half price so i thought why not!
The bottle isn't too big, its about the same size as your hand and is 50ml. it has a translucent pump at the top and is covered with a red coloured plastic wrapper with information such as how to use it and what it does. On the front is the Durex logo and a circle design with the inside circle coloured silver. It then says 'heat' in this circle and in a white circle to the side it says 'blow to enhance'.
This item costs around £4 depending where you get it from .There are always offer such as buy one get one half price in boots and it is worth hunting around finding a cheap price as it lasts a long time. You can find this in most supermarkets, boots and super drug.
How to use the product
To use the product you have to twist the pump and it will unlock then get out as much lube as your want and put it in the desired places. This lube is said to heighten your senses, and if you gently blow onto the area with this applied it will give you a warm sensation. This product CAN be used with a condom.
The lubricant itself is a clear colour and i find it slightly runnier than some of there other lubes. it doesn't have a smell to it and its very smooth and soft.
What i thought
All in all this is a good lube. I like the fact that when your blow on it it adds heat because it gives you the choice unlike the tingle one with just makes you numb! This is a great lube to use even if your not bothered about the heat sensation, it will still give you the ease and comfort you need, whereas for me they kind of make me feel less which isn't a great thing! I also personally don't like the twist pump as I can never tell if its locked or unlocked...might be just me though!
What my partner thought
My partners not really that bothered about using things like this. He personally doesn't like getting messy with this stuff and would rather not bother, but when hes actually using it he seems to like it. He doesn't think the heat aspect of it has an impact on him or makes him feel nice when that area is blown on...it just goes warm 'whats the big deal with that' he says. But as use as a lube it works quite well if your willing to get a big messy.
hum hum well in this lovely red bottle is a nice little cocktail that really is enjoyable. i first spotted it in tescos when the Durex play range were on offer you get heat, tingle and another one so we decided to get one of each this by far is the best. it is easy to dispense the liquid and it feels thick and creamy on the first feel, it is lube so you put it where you expect without having to explain that one once applied to your bits it starts to heat up very nicely not so it burns but a warm cozy feeling especially when a little rubbing is being done too :) it can get slightly messy but it doesn't dry out quick it doesn't taste horrible and is enjoyed by men and women i found its also nice on the breasts so a great fun and handy to have around a snatch at a price for the satisfying results
Bit of a risque one, and I am actually wondering how to write the review without it turning out like erotic fiction.
Ok, well, for starters, this stuff tastes lovely.
Ok, so its not really meant to be eaten, but christs its yummy.
Dont ask me why I tasted it in the first place, because I shant answer, and its quite obvious.
On that point though, the yumminess makes certain, erm, activities lots more enjoyable.
This lube (oh how I love the word lube) heats up gently when you blow on it, or with friction.
Dont worry...this isnt deep heat.
It wont burn your bits at all.
This product can be used in many ways.
(gentle wording now Lara)
It can be used for....hmm....massage (nice safe word), an aid for helping the juices flow (if there were not already forthcoming), and obviously, like I have previously stated, as a dessert.
Ok. Maybe not dessert. I dont recommend eating this with a spoon. The taste is very sweet, and can get a little sickly.
Another issue, is that this stuff can be a little messy. you dont really want it all over the sheets, and it can get a little clumpy and sticky if it gets in your hair.
Im not talking about the hair on your head, although im sure that applies too.
You can buy this product from most supermarkets, for under a fiver.
This lube (there we go again) is water soluble, and completely safe to use with condoms (yay!)
Because obviously, safe sex, is the best kind.
Lubricant is a great thing. I'm one of those guys who needs a little lube down there so I like to try all the different kinds. I got this and the tingle lubricant for my Christmas from my partner at the time. The partner is gone but the lube lingers on.
The bottle is quite nice, other lube bottles I have look a little gross and far too clinical. This lube is for fun and you can see that straight away. Im not a huge fan of the size of the bottle to be honest as its quite expensive (about a fiver unless you get it on offer) for the amount you get (specially considering you can get lubricants for free from your doctor round here).
The pump is a good shape and doesn't tend to drip or get clogged like some other pumps can do so it doesn't really waste any (again, considering the amount you get, good thing!)
In saying that they don't give much in the bottle, I must also add that it has a pretty short shelf life. You have three months to use the whole bottle once you've opend it before they recommend you get rid of it.
Smell wise this lubricant doesn't smell bad, it doesn't really smell that much at all as far as I can tell! This would be more down to your personal preference anyway since we all have smells we hate and smells we love.
The heat lubes are always a bit worrying for me, I'm sure we've all heard of that uncomfortable burn (at least if your friends are as dirty as mine, you have)
As it so happens this one doesn't really do much for me. It IS slightly warmer than other lubes but I'd imagine the same effect could be reached by sitting a bottle of lubricant on a radiator for a few minutes.
It tells me on the front that all I need to do is "Blow to enhance" but again, I didn't feel any different sensation. If anything it cooled me down (as you would expect blowing to do)
On the flip side (literally) when I was using this with my partner, he said that it gave him a somewhat uncomfortable feeling, simmilar to having just had the squits. When he used it on me, I understood exactly what he was talking about. I'd say if you are going to be using this on your bottom, test the water a little first to make sure you can handle the feeling.
The lube can also be used orally and is very, VERY sweet. Great if you have a sweet tooth, not so great if you have an aversion to sugar. I just about went into a coma when I tasted this stuff.
One thing I must comment on is the texture! It's water soluable (and therefore condom friendly, yay for safe sex!) but it feels like more like an oil based lube (which I personally prefer) It's very silky and smooth (as I'm sure it boasts on the bottle somewhere) and lasts quite a while compaired to a lot of other water based lubes.
Another point to make is that with lubricants such as this, they can be used all over the body. My partner preferred this as a massage aid than a lubricant. The heat (if you can feel it) works on any area you are willing to try it on.
I wouldn't be able to comment on the female experiance of this lube because... well... I'm not female. So this may still be good for the girls, but boys wont get half as much fun out of it.
Over all, I wouldnt say it's the best thing for guys to enjoy, but also not to write it off till you try it. Everyone's bodies react in different ways so you never know, you might get a kick or two from it. Try it once and go from there!
Intensify your pleasure!
