This review is about a brand of condoms so there may be mention of certain activities. I will try and keep it light but if you are easily offended then please be warned about the potential content firther along.
Durex is probably the most famous brand of condoms in the U.K and has a large selection of products including different shapes and sizes. If you're more concerned about safety then there's the Extra Safe but the Pleasure Max kind are designed to enhance your experience.
Pleasure Max's come in a very bright coloured box, you can't miss it on the shelf in between all the other kinds. 'durex' is written on the front so you know you are picking the right brand. This type can be off putting for anyone a little more shy about buying condoms as it does feel a little like you have a neon sign above your head when picking up this box as the colour is that bright.
Inside the box you always get a leaflet which gives you a little how-to guide for using the product (which is helpful if you're a little unsure) and tells you about other products in the Durex range. Each condom comes individually wrapped.
The shape and size of these condoms are like most of the other varieties, what makes these ones different is the little bumps and nodules on the outside of each condom that is designed to add pleasure to your experience. It still has the usual lubricants and spermicides that make a Durex safe as possible so there is no compromise between enjoyment and safety.
I admit that this is my favourite type of condom from Durex (I have tried a few as it is always worth trying to find the right ones for you and your partner) as I find the sensation of the little bumps quite interesting. The condom itself also feels thinner when in use for me. I was worried, at first, that the thinner feeling would mean compromising on protection but there has never been an accident with any Durex condom. My partner says that there isn't really a difference for him but he does agree a little with the feeling of it being thinner so almost more of a natural feeling for the experience. I wouldn't say that using these condoms turns an average experience into a mind blowing one but it certainly does add something a little extra or different to it.
This is an enjoyable condom that adds a little something different into the mix, I would recommend it for anyone who is not 100% happy with the feeling they're getting from their current condom as it is certainly worth switching to. This is just what I have found from my own experiences and this condom may not work for you or your partner but I think it is always worth trying.
I have rather a collection of condoms at home - I often pick them up from stands at Gay Pride events in the summer, and find that it's quite fun having a little bit of a lucky dip selection available. With that said, for the most part, a condom is just a condom. Sure, they may occasionally come in jazzy novelty packaging (the EXS for example) but really, so long as they wrap up a gentlemans sausage securely and keep his little swimmers safely contained, I'm happy.
My boyfriend, however, feels differently. He quite often finds some condoms hard to roll on, or a little snug at the base. However, there is one variety of condom we've used that has impressed him (and myself) enough to become a regular purchase, so much so that the lucky dip pot is now just for when we've run out of the usual. That condom, ladies and gents, is the Durex Pleasuremax.
So what makes these different from any other condom? Well, they have ribs and dimples all over them, and according to the packet, an 'extra bulbous shape'. The dimples are all over the condom, whilst the ribs are distributed towards the bottom of the shaft, designed to gently stimulate the clitoris. However, before we get to whether that works, we need to get the thing on.
And this is where is starts to impress - this condom unrolls like a dream, but not only that, the latex seems more flexible and stretchy, allowing this to fit snugly round the base of my partners pork sword without making it feel constricted. Once on, it looks very neutral - no silly colours here, just a normal fleshy looking penis.
Giving it a little stroke, it's easy to feel the little dents and ridges along the condom, and certainly during those first gentle moments into intercourse I can feel them as he enters and withdraws. However, after a certain point, I did stop noticing the textures - possibly as a result of natural excitement smoothing the way. Removing and tying up was easy with this condom, and I was happy that after I removed and responsibly disposed of this, there wasn't any lingering smell of rubber on my hands.
They say you do get what you pay for, and Durex Pleasuremax condoms are at the pricier end of the market, with a 12 pack costing around a tenner in most supermarkets and chemists. I always shop online for condoms personally, as they are often much cheaper, and a box of these picked up from Amazon currently costs £4.74 for 12, including delivery, or you can purchase 24 for £8.99 including delivery from Ebay.
Overall, my boyfriend and I highly recommend these - they fit him comfortably and safely, and if he's happy, I'm happy too. 5 stars.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love these condoms. It is a bit expensive in the shops but I found a brilliant website, they are selling them so cheap. You can get 12 for £3.49 ! Website called MrDurex http://www.mrdurex.comHope I could help :)
We bought these for a change as we usually use the extra safe ones.
The condoms come in attractive packaging which makes them stand out from the rest (after reading that back it sounds a bit wrong!). You can buy the condoms in both small and large packs. The condoms are all individually wrapped and there's always an instruction leaflet in there for first timers!
The condoms are easy to put on and they're comfortable to wear, so my boyfriend says. They don't really smell of anything, which is a bonus as I hate the usual "condom" smell! They feel nice as they're quite smooth and the added dots give the woman more pleasure. I can feel a difference with these as the dots feel nice and they help to "excite" me a little more! The dots also help to control my boyfriend, helping him to last longer. You can use these with lube but we prefer to use them as they are as using lube with them reduces the effect of the dots and ribs.
The condoms are safe and they're great quality. They don't split or break and they're easy to dispose of. They manage to stay in place throughout sex and they're comfortable for the woman aswell as the man. My boyfriend says that they don't feel too tight and they don't reduce his feeling of sex, or take away his pleasure.
I would recommend these condoms. They're not 100% going to protect you from pregnancy but no form of contraception is 100% reliable anyway.
Ok so maybe people don't normally open talk about condoms and sexual products, well unless you're me or my friends anyway - I'm not fussed what I talk about at the end of the day. It's not as if there aren't a lot of people in the world having sex, it's just whether you are open enough to talk about the way you enjoy it, because even if you are using condoms which everyone recommends - you don't have to skimp on feelings. This is where Durex normally come in quite handy...
~*~ What is the pleasuremax? ~*~
Ok so Durex Pleasuremax are a brand of condoms made by Durex, don't know I deduced that one - clever me! Unlike other condoms in the Durex brand these bad boys are ribbed and dotted, to stimulate both of you. You can get these in boxes of 3 and 12, in varying shops like Boots and supermarkets, they are made of natural rubber latex, are transparent and lubricated and they are 'Easy On' shaped...
~*~ Experience the pleasure... ~*~
Firstly it surprises me quite how ok I am with writing this review...
Anyway, well I bought a box of these back in September when I first got with my new boyfriend, but I have previously used them with my ex so have plenty of experience with them. This time though I was only buying a box of three so didn't spend a lot on them thankfully, because well we only used two and the other one has been neglected back in the box. He had never used them before so it was a new experience for him!
Initially you take them out of the packaging and as normal you have that lovely feeling of having a slimy lubricated condom to contend with, but thankfully this particular specimen of condom doesn't have too much of a smell to it, which is normally what puts me off them - especially the tingle ones because they smell a bit minty and well I don't really like it. Admittedly I don't like the feel of condoms as it is, but I wanted to try the 'Easy On' shape to see if it actually worked at making them a bit easier to put on - now I will explain even at 21 I'm not a big fan of putting these things on, and if I'm honest I'm a bit nervous at doing it but for the purpose of consumer reviewing I did it. Even for a novice like me they are really easy to slip on, hold the end and roll down its nice and simple - I'm not going into an explanation of how to put them on because read the instructions it will tell you.
So the feelings of them, personally as the woman in the situation - they did have a better feeling than the plain condoms, it's not a huge difference that you are bound to go mad over the moment you feel it. However during sex it will make a bit of a difference, because the dots and ribs are big enough for you to feel them, especially when you first start to have sex. For him the special end they have on them to make things a bit more sensitive for them, does apparently work, ok so the complaint was it's still not as good as sex without but it wasn't as awful as he was expecting - and he was happy to use them again. Can't say for me that it was quite the same as without a condom either, but for safety aspects we used them.
In the years I have used this brand of condom I haven't had any incidents where one has split so I am quite confident to use Durex again and these condoms, because even with all the added extras they look very stable and durable. They come off after use easy enough as well without sticking to vital body parts or ripping off any skin, and no one I've used these with has come across and skin issues after using them so I am quite happy with their treatment of skin, sensitive or even just my fingers.
Condoms are designed to make guard against pregnancy and STI's and that is what they are primarily used for, but as always they are not 100% effective as the only contraception that is 100% effective is no sex, and well anyone that knows me knows that's not an option!! Haha! Anyway these are a safety item if you are wanting to have sex, but why should you have a plain boring condom when you can have something that will give you a little bit more out of safe sex. They aren't about to blow your mind, but they are worth giving a go for a little something more.
~*~ Price and Availability ~*~
You can buy these condoms and others in the durex range, from Boots, Superdrug and other chemists, they are also available in supermarkets - in packs of either 3 or 12, a 3 pack is around £3 and a pack of 12 is more around the £7 mark, but boots often have offers of two packs for £10. So if you see offers and like these take a chance and grab a couple of boxes, these and any other that take your fancy!
I have admit me and my bf are really not big fans of condoms but wanting to keep oursleves safe and lower the risk of preganancy we definately use them. Other forms of contraception we have tryed and condoms are the only form of contraception which I am allowed to use so as you cna imagine finding the right type of condom was very important for us both. After trying other brands and being really dissapointed ( I mainly bought these for the low cost effect). I found these on offer in my local boots store. They were two packs of 12 for £10 so i thought i would give these a go. I'd heard that durex was a very reputable company and many of my friends had commented on how good they were. In the past we have also experienced condoms splitting so i was really really keen to try something that we could just put on, forget about and not worry if it had split or not.
The packaging is very striking. Each condom is wrapped is a red foil packaging and you do need to be especially careful when opening them as you can actually wrip the condom which i was a little apprehensive about. Being very private these condoms arnt very discreet so if you like abit of privacy I'd reccomend carrying them in a condom tin.
The condoms come very heavily lubricated whihc is great as it helps which ease applying to you partner. They are quite thin which i was little apprehensive about but i need not worry. We barely noticed the condom there and there was alot of feeling (I no not very good to talk about) but if your like me and dont like the thought of doing it with a plastic bad as so many condoms feel like then these definately are the opposite. They also ensure good protection and dont leave you feeling so dry as other normal condoms do. I was definately pleased with these and have continued using them so for anyone who hates the thought of condoms these are for you.
This isn't something you go and do everyday. writting up and reading about condom reviews, but the use of condoms is very importat for people who do not want to get pregnant or catch any unwanted STD's. As boring as this may sound but if you want to be safe rather than sorry and enjoy sex to the max i think you should invest in these condoms.
the texture of the condoms are ribbed and bumped. although when you look closely it looks like it isnt going to change anything during sex, but in reality if you tried orginal condoms then went to pleasure max you and your partner will definately feel the difference.
even though it is a little pricey i feel there is no price at all to being safe and pleasured at the same time. next time you are buying condoms try this just one and you wont be dissapointed in this product.
*Reader Discretion, 18 Plus!
Me and my boyfriend have been at it like rabbits lately (tmi?!) and we've been trying lots of new toys, lubes and condoms to make things a bit more fun and sexy.
I'm a huge sexual health freak and the thought of sex without a condom is scary for me because there's absolute no way i want a baby yet, and even though i'm on the pill i always make him wear a condom just to be on the safe side.
As my boyfriend doesn't enjoy (hates!) wearing condoms , i wanted to try the Durex pleasuremax condoms, as they *supposedly* stimulate both parties during sex. I'd heard about them a while ago on a TV show that gives out sex advice and there was a girl in a similar posistion to me, and the sex advice women gave her some of these.
I didn't want to buy them instore, firstly because i'm a nightmare at buying condoms and start getting scared someone i know will see, and plus the fact that most condoms in shops are getting quite expensive now, some are even around the £6-£15 mark! Instead, i went onto my laptop and sneakily ordered a 12 pack from Amazon for just £3, with amazon stating that the RRP is £9.53 - i also got free packaging and postage, which was discreet, and overall i was really pleased with my bargain condoms.
The condoms arrived quickly and it was soon time to put them to the test. Before i start getting into details, i'll briefly describe the packaging, as it was quite suprising. They come in pink packaging, which i really didn't expect, and i honestly can't imagine a grown buying them due to the packaging; it's really girly, but ofcourse it's as much of a mens product as a womens. The box is made of cardboard and there's the durex logo on the front with it stating that it contains '12 ribbd and dotted condoms.'
A product description is on the back, saying: "Now you can ensure maximum stimulation for you and your partner. The specially designed shape with uniquely positioned ribs and raised dots give extra intensity of feeling for both you and your partner. Everyone's a winner with this ultimate condom."
Once the box was opened, i saw that the condoms are invidually wrapped in the usual durex foil wrapping to keep them fresh and safe. Opening the wrapper was easy and i simply teared the top off.
The condoms are like your average condom; transparent and lubricated, but with a rib and dot texture all over. Putting the condom on my boyfriend was simple; squeeze the teat and roll on, just like you would any other condom. Once against his skin the dots and ribs were very visible and looked a bit intimidating!
My overall experience was that they did what they promised. The texture made it much more stimulating for me, with much more pleasurable friction and pressure , and my boyfriend said that it was a little nicer for him and althoug it did feel different it was nice, and it also felt comfortable on which is good as some condoms can be a bit iffy and get too tight, which obviously isn't pleasent for my boyfriend!
The condom didn't split or anything during use and the lube washed off afterwards and didn't stain the bed sheets, it was only a small amount but i find lubed durex condoms usually stick to my skin but i had no issues with these at all. The lube was spread equally on the condom and didn't gather in the ribbed parts. Smell wise they have the usual latex condom smell but it's not strong or unpleasent.
Overall reccomended, i'll be using it again. They're ideal for either use on a dildo or for use with your partner; these actually do feel nice for the guys too, but may not be to everyones taste!
Hi all! Me and my partner started using these when ''normal'' condoms got a bit boring. When we first looked at them we thought '' just another condom'' not expecting anything exciting, but boy were we wrong! They feel fantastic on both partners and for around £2-3 a box i think there a real bargain. Deff our favorites from now on! I find the multipack ( about 12 different ones in a box) are also good, you get to try all of them out without spending a fortune!
I do feel a bit strange as a female writing a review on a condom product, but after thinking of it for a while, I've come to the conclusion that condoms are as much a female issue as they are a male issue and a good or bad condom design can obviously contribute as much to the partner's pleasure as to the males pleasure! For this reason, I wanted to do a brief review on Durex Pleasuremax Condoms since this is a product that I have used on various occasions with my partner.
A pack of three cost me £3.12 from Boots, which works out as £1.04 each - which seems about average for a condom, although as far as I'm aware, you can get this range from some Family Planning clinics for free. However, I find it more convenient to buy them from Boots. I prefer to opt for the Durex range because they are a tried and tested brand with a great safety record - and they are also very easily available.
The idea is that these condoms are ribbed and have raised dots in various places and are designed to give maximum pleasure to both partners during penetration. In an ideal world, I find that sex without condoms is more pleasurable - but unfortunately in todays day and age, this is not recommended. In my experience, using this condom is less likely to impede the sensations that can be affected by using a condom....if that makes sense! No condom provides maximum stimulation, but where that is not an option, this condom seems to be the next best thing from the female perspective. My partner says that it doesn't make much difference to him and that "a condom is a condom".
The condom does have a lubricant on it which makes penetration easy, but also because it is non-spermicidal, it also lessens the risk of pregnancy - and that gives me peace of mind! We have also never had an issue of the condom splitting or being removed during intercourse.
I got these condoms free from a sexual health clinic, they gave me a big bag of all sorts and these were amongst the selection. Durex claims they intensify pleasure for both parties.
So, on inspection it's just like a normal condom but with little bumps/ridges along the shaft which are supposed to stimulate the woman through changes in texture and friction (i'm not sure what the idea is for heightening pleasure for the man). Initially I felt a difference, maybe for the first minute or so but to be honest once we'd got going I really didn't feel a difference between this and the usual, infact I'd say I prefer the featherlight type of condom because this one felt a bit colder and thicker. My partner said he didn't notice a difference between this and the usual.
Also I wouldn't recommend using a lubricant as the whole idea behind this is the bumpinness of the ride, which I think is why it lost its novelty pretty quickly because of lubrication.
It was a freebie so I definitely wouldn't complain, and if you're using condoms regularly it might be worth buying to mix it up a bit.
I had no problems with it as far as breakage/slipping or anything like that.
Good enough in a mix pack/pack of 2, but don't go out and buy a 12pack straight away.
I have to say from the offset that I do, like a lot of men Hate condoms, yet I will always be vigilant and use one as I really do not want to create an accidental child. The downer of this is I get severely reduced pleasure from most condoms and that creates a large lack of stimulation on my side of the fence.
I am sure a lot of men dream that they could last a little longer but I last too long, my girlfriend often climaxes before I do or neither of us do and we just get too tired. For the record this is far from a brag and very annoying at times. Sex usually lasts between fifty minutes to an hour and a half, with a condom this is an even longer experience, still fun but not exhilarating for me.
Pleasure Max condoms however break this inability to reach my climax and stimulate well. The ribs and dots do a superb job on both me and my girlfriend, they work a charm. This makes the sex for her even better and the sex for me enjoyable. My only problem with these condoms is that they are still a little too thick and therefore still feel a tad uncomfortable.
The packaging is also an eye catching pink which is easily identifiable on the shelf, and this works well as it was my girlfriend that looked at the box and decided to pick it up, merely based on the box.
The pleasure max variety certainly keeps up to its word and even though there are better condoms out there I always make sure a few of these are in the supply.
These have to be the prettiest of the Durex range. The box is all pink and pretty and the product itself has a whole host of sweet treats engineered into it- such as dots, ribs and all sorts of fun thrown in. Which is what you want really. Better than something plain and boring.
One box of three will retail for around £2.60, you can also buy a box of 12 for £7. In vending machines, the price and number of condoms per box may change.
The box states these have a: "Stimulating rib and dot texture. Natural rubber latex condoms. Easy-on shaped and teat ended. Transparent and lubricated. Nominal width: 56mm". They are marketed as fun for both partners, which is nicer than just being aimed at one person of the other.
Durex also claim they "smell better". Condoms smell like condoms, most people try not to smell them but it is in an odd way reassuring that durex smell test their products. I think.
By calling these "Pleasuremax" and selling them in a pink box, I think they are most likely to be bought by girls- as you want them to be fun as well as to do what they are suposed to do.
I am definitely not a fan of condoms. I really hate just the feel of them and have avoiding them quite successfully for the most point(through only having sex within my stable relationship).
The supply of condoms which I do have comes from my local youth clinic in a sort of bundle and selection of lots of different Durex ones. Mostly I get a lot of pink ones which are the Pleasuremax. A lot of my friends love these condoms and say they're the best for their pleasure so I thought I'd try one... and I hated it!
These condoms are supposidly pleasuremax because they are ribbed up until a certain point then the condom has bubbles. This means that during intercourse there is more pleasure from that comes from feeling the ridges on the condom. But that is the aspect which I really don't like. For me sex should be sex and any ridges or bobbles just takes away from that. When personally using these condoms I can really feel the ridges etc and I hate then thinking about it during intercourse.
As I really don't like these condoms (no matter how much I know others love them) I can't possibly just recommend them. For someone like me who likes their condoms old fashioned and plain stick to just that, for others who need a little more, I guess you might as well as try these all the same, possibly buying them in a multi pack and not jsut a whole pleasuremax pack.
Like a lot of people safe sex is very important to me, three kids am I really don't want any more. After my third baby I could not go on the pill for medical reason so had us condoms.
As my husband is shy it was left to me to go and buy the condoms, and oh my god there are so many different types to pick from, I felt a bit like a kid in a sweet shop standing there in front of shelf's full of condoms.
The pleasure did stand out to me because of the pink box (sad I know) and one I read the word pleasure I was sold. A pack of 3 cost me £2.94 from asda so this worked out at 98p per condom.
The condoms have a ribbed and spotted design to help maximise the pleasure. I think these are nice and for me did give that extra little bit of pleasure, my husband said he could not tell any difference in the feeling of them.
Like most durex condoms the condoms are lubricated with a non spermicidal lubricant and are made from natural rubber latex.
There are full instructions in the box of how to use the condoms and I found them easy to follow and very detailed, prob best to read before not in the heat of the moment.
I thought these where good condoms but if you looking for the answer to a man that rubbish in bed then these not it, these just add the cherry on the top of the cake.
For discrete packs with the highest chance of fitting your letter box and the fastest delivery, we remove condoms from boxes and send in protective bags with inserts.
