As condoms are a necessary essential when not planning on a pregnancy me and my partner like to try different brands and different novelty factors whilst still knowing that we are safe. When I saw these tingle condoms from well known brand Durex I thought it was worth a try. Like most of the condoms I buy I got them from my condom and seeing as we hadn't used them before I just bought a 3 pack and paid £3.20 for the box which is pretty steep in my opinion but Durex condoms are always more expensive. The condoms are available elsewhere in pharmacys and I know boots sell them too so they are easy to get hold of. The condom comes in a square foil wrapper like most other condoms. Once opened you have the clear latex condom that looks like most others. The difference and selling point with these is that they are coated both inside and out with a non-spermicidal spearmint flavoured lubricant designed not only to taste nicer than latex but also to tingle for both partners. For me the spearmint lube is definitely the downfall of this condom as well as the selling point. Firstly the smell of latex mixed with mint isn't the sexiest smell ever. Secondly it doesn't really taste that great you still get the rubber flavour mixed in with the mint. Thirdly it doesn't tingle it burns! The feeling of the mint on sensitive areas is not a good one by any stretch of the imagination I found it extremely uncomfortable to say the least. I would much rather use a normal condom and not feel the 'tingle'. It certainly doesn't add pleasure at all. One thing the lube does do is make the condom easy and quick to put on and provided you have bought the correct size they fit well. They are certainly safe and we did not have any tears in the latex when putting on, using or removing the condom. Overall they are not something either of us are in a hurry to use again, I have no desire to feel the burn again! Side note- the condoms carry the british kite mark certification.
Since being on maternity I often walk around town looking for things to buy and one day I found Durex Play Tingle in Poundland so I didn't hesitate on purchasing to give it a go with my husband. The lubrication came in a 60ml pump bottle with a green label. The label offers facts of the lubrication - *better sex 9/10 agree *Condom friendly The lubricant was runnier than other lubes I have tried and slightly greasy but stayed in the area applied without running. There was a spearmint smell to the lube and out of intereige we used it during oral sex and it had a minty taste to it also which made the experience even more enjoyable for both parties. The lube was great coating evenly without making a swimming pool (lol!!) It made penetration easy however I can't rave about the tingle; there was no tingle, burning, tickleing nothing at all. As a lunricant it was great as a sex enhancer you may of well as used KY as it offered nothing extra tingling wise. Maybe I'm not as sensitive as the normal person but my partner felt nothing either. I would recommend you giving this a go as the tingle may work for you. See if you can search around in the cheap shops as normally this product is priced at £4.50 which I feel is very over priced for a product which doesn't do what it's ment to. Due to the lack of tingle I'm going to have to give this product a 2 start. The only reason it got a 2 is because it is a very good lube.
These condoms were on offer at my local supermarket on a BOGOF offer so I decided to buy these and the "Performa" ones. The condoms were a twelve pack and they came in the standard Durex box. These condoms are said to contain a minty lube which gives a tingly feeling. Do they deliver on their promise though? I really wanted to like these but unfortunately they didn't make me tingle! My partner said these were easy to use and comfortable to wear. They felt durable and they felt like "quality condoms", as opposed to the cheaper ones that feel a bit fake. The condoms smell quite minty, you can definitely detect a minty scent, which I liked as the standard condom smell isn't very nice. I have to say that these were quite uncomfortable for me. They almost hurt, which took away the pleasure. The minty lubricant is too cooling, like you're standing next to a fan or something! I wasn't blown away by these and I didn't have much of a tingly feeling. I don't think i'll be buying these again as they don't deliver on their promise. These are good quality condoms and they are reliable. They stay put and do their job but they don't do what they say on the tin (or pack!). They are strong though and they don't tear. I think Durex need to go back and look at what makes more of a tingly feel though!
I am fond on Durex condoms, it is more or less the only brand (unless I spot something new and cool) me and my partner use. I often try "new" condoms and these came to their turn. The package is nice enough, the price is right, hell I'm buying. These have a minty flavoured lubricant - that was something I have not "tried" before. And after using these won't be doing again (although I did accidentally buy something else minty later on)... In my opinion: 1. the smell of latex mixed with the smell of mint is not exactly something that would spice things up! 2. At first there is a burning feeling (not exactly the nice kind), then comes the freezing feeling (far from comfortable to), tingle is not the word I would use to describe this... It was far from pleasant. If you ever used Head&Shulders mint shampoo (or probably any other mint product) the intensity you know how cold mint can feel, and here it is no different. 3. Well if I would somehow think away the "cons" the condom itself is fine, good quality, lubricated enough and has "easy-on-shape" . I would not reccomend it, well unless you are a mint fanatic...
Durex / condoms are transparent with a minty flavoured lubricant, for a heightened stimulation for both partners.
