Advantages: slippery, good value, lasts for ages, condom safe

Disadvantages: slightly less available than bigger brands perhaps?

For ages, I was pretty unimpressed with lubricants. I bought Durex Play Feel (the blue one) and KY Jelly and both had the same problems. They were sticky, they dried out, you had to keep adding more - in short, they were crap.

But I got some sachets of lubricant in some free "safe sex" packs I picked up at a bar. We didn't use them much at first as we had the bottles, but having used them alone and with my partner I found them really great. Unlike the Durex lube or the KY Jelly, it was very slippery and you only needed to apply a little bit. So when the Durex bottle ran out (it wasn't great but I'm not one to waste money) and I needed to buy another I decided to see if you could get this sachet lubricant in full size. It was called Pasante TLC and yes, you could.

It comes in a pump-action bottle and it lasts for ages because you don't have to keep re-applying. It's about £5 for a bottle including postage (I ordered it from the internet - not sure about availability in shops - try Boots) and the bottle lasts for ages as I said so this is really great value. It's silky-smooth and really slippery - basically what you're looking for in a lubricant.

Well, what's the difference? I've heard that the water-based ones are bad and I know that Durex and KY Jelly are both water-based so this could be it. "Oh no, but oil-based lubricants dissolve condoms!" you say. Yes, they do, and the Pasante lube is definitely not oil-based as it is condom safe. What I think it might be is SILICONE-based. Yes, that's right, there's a third option. I will have to check with the bottle or the manufacturer's website but I think the Pasante TLC lube is silicone-based and you might get a similar consistency with any other silicone-based lubricant. However, I won't be trying this out since I've already found a brand that I really like and I'm going to stick with it!

I would really recommend buying this - you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Silky-smooth, good value and fun!
