I thought I read it wrong at first when I noticed (on the pack) that these were scented. Scented tampons? Whatever next?! The tampons are great as they can easily be disguised by their sweet like wrapper. They don't even look like tampons, which is a good thing as I don't always like taking tampons out of my bag. The tampons are easy to insert as they have a smooth applicator with a rounded end. Inside the pack is an instruction leaflet for first timers. The smell is what I would describe as floral. It's a nice scent and it isn't too strong or overpowering. It's just nice and subtle and I think it's a nice added touch! The tampons are excellent quality. The cord is threaded onto the tampon from the bottom to the top. If you pull and/ or tug at the tampon you can see for yourself how it'd be virtually impossible for the cord to break. The tampons are comfortable to use. They don't cause me any pain or discomfort and they don't leak, thanks to their protective "skirt" which surrounds the base of the tampon. I replace the tampons every four to eight hours, as directed on the pack. I do also use these tampons at night. They are safe to use at night but I would suggest using a pad underneath just in case. These are great tampons and they're excellent quality too. Recommended!
I first saw these advertised on TV a while back, and first thing I thought was 'ouch'. Simply because I was always told never to put any perfumes or anything like that anywhere near my lady area, so the thought of putting some cotton thing soaked in perfume inside! Well it didn't sound good I bought these then by accident, whilst looking for my usual tampax compak. Stupidly i still get embarassed buying tampons, so I always rush and grab as quickly as possible. So I gave these a try, they are very lightly scented and come with a plastic applicator, same as the usual tampax compak. I prefer these tampons because they are very discrete to put in my handbag, and they're easy to use. Surprisingly the scent actually made me feel a lot cleaner, even though it's not really got any function other that to smell nice I felt better about myself whilst using it (more so that with the average tampon) I really can't find a downside to these, they're the great quality of tampax with an added freshness. Would definitely recommened, also to younger girls on there first tampons, maybe they will seem a bit cooler/not so scary! Keep an eye out for them in boots/superdrug on buy one get one frees/special offers, but otherwise i'd say still they're worth the extra on top of the usual bog standard tampon.
Being female, I tend to have the need once in a while for Tampax and the simpler they are to use the better. Tampax Compax Fresh, are a massive leap forward from the first tampons I used as a teenager. For a start, they are much smaller, and now come in colored wrapper which do resemble sweet or sugar packets. They also now come in plastic wrappers, when they used to be wrapped in paper. The applicators are also now made of plastic, instead of cardboard, which makes me feel better about using them. The applicators are simple enough to use, and all instructions are on the leaflet in the box. Compak fresh are slightly scented and come in pink wrappers, with pink applicators. They come in different absorbency strengths, regular, super and lite, and they come in different box sizes too. The slight scenting is quite pleasant, although whether it is really necessary - I don't know, I can not say anyone has complimented me on smelling like a tampon! I have never had any problems when using these tampons, so I will happily recommend them to any woman. You can buy them in Boots, Superdrug and in most Pharmacies and supermarkets. The price will vary from place to place, as most places seem to do different size boxes, but I usually pay around £2 - £3 for a box. These are great little tampons, and I am sure us women all know, anything that makes this time of our lives a bit easier, is always welcomed with open arms!
I managed to avoid tampons until I was about 26, not bad if you ask me. They always scared me a little and as I had been using my trusty Always Ultra towels for years and was happy with them, I had no reason to rock the boat. One day I was sucked into the Tampon world quite viciously when on holiday, my period decided to rear it's ugly head preventing my from cooling off in the pool. Because I had brought nothing but towels with my, I had to send my poor friend to find a shop. Of course she was only able to find the standard ones with a cardboard applicator. I must have spent about an hour in the bathroom, reading and re-reading the instructions until finally I emerged, feeling slightly uncomfortable but ready for the pool. I really didn't get on very well with the cardboard applicators, so when I returned home I bought a packet of these and I haven't looked back. The tampons are sold in a thin cardboard box, and although this makes absolutely no difference to a product like this, I do really like the bright colours and design of the box. It makes purchasing this unfortunately very necessary product a bit more bearable. Inside the box are 20 individually wrapped tampons. You can smell the pleasant scent through the wrapper which is nice. The tampons themselves have a pink plastic applicator, a good thing for me as I love the colour pink! Compared to tampons with carboard applicators these are very easy to use and I experience no discomfort at all. When applied correctly the tampon is unable to be felt. These really work well to prevent leaks and I haven't had an "accident" with them yet, I had many leakages with towels. I find the supermarkets are the cheapest place to buy these and they are currently on sale at Tesco for £2.78, a little more that you would pay for the standard versions, but in my opinion, these are well worth the price. Because each one is individually wrapped, they are are easy to carry around in your hand bag, they are also very small so they really don't take up much room. Since using tampons I feel much fresher during my monthly as these are much more hygienic than towels. They also make clothing feel more comfortable as I found that sometimes when wearing towls, certain pairs of trousers and jeans were uncomfortable due to the extra padding.
I don't now about other women reading this but I've always struggled to use tampons. All my mates have used them for years and most swear by using them but I've always been confused when trying to use them and always cos I can't see them find it hard to judge when to change them and stuff. However from time to time I do re-try them out because I'd prefer to use them from sanitary towels really and feel they're more hygienic and easier to dispose of! The one thing I won't do is use cheap, value or economy one's. I prefer to buy a brand I've heard of and Tampax I have of course! The Packaging: I've only scent these available to purchase in a 20 pack and I paid £2.78 for those (in Sainsbury's) though other sizes may of course be available. My option was regular but for about the same price you can purchase these in the 'Super' variety too. So the box they come in is bright pink and yellow and on the front I'm told they are Tampax Compak Fresh 'Slightly Scented' 20 Applicator Tampons and that they are regular (my chosen one's of course as I previously stated) and that they are pink and have a skirt (lol). On one side of the box I'm shown the applicator and how the 'skirt works' and on the other side I'm shown a diagram of how to use one. On the back of the box I'm told a bit about the product, a bit about the different tampons available in this range and what absorbency they are designed for and a warning is listed. On the bottom of the box contact details for Procter & Gamble are listed (the manufacturer of all Tampax products), I'm shown how to dispose of them after use (in a bin), the recycle symbol is shown and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice female friendly box this is! The Tampons: All come individually wrapped in a bright yellow plastic oblong packet with pink lettering on that actually says nothing at all lol. The packets are easy to tear into and your met with a bright pink see through applicator with a white string to one end and all you do to insert it is pull the bottom part of the applicator fully out and then gently push it up and the cotton tube of tampon pops out of the top and into you! Simples! Now there is a slight floral scent to this product but nothing major or too overpowering. When storing these for a while that scents stays put really very well indeed. I mean I don't use all 20 in a month because I alternate with towels so I appreciate that smell staying put though I don't think it does much for us when using it! Verdict: These are actually simple to use. Like I said at the beginning of this review I find all tampons difficult to get inserted and into place but these are easier for me than most. I like the applicator and the general packaging and even the scent (makes my bag smell nice when I take them out and about with me lol). Once inserted they stay put, they are highly absorbent and the 'skirt' flares to the base of them when in use making sure of no leakages, and me I'm happy to report I've had none of those, though still I wouldn't wear me best white knickers I'm not that confident! lol. Everything about these is quality. The string is sturdy so no worries there, the tampons slides out of the applicator with ease and no having to drag it out of yourself when you've used it with a bulldozer...just a gentle pull is all it takes! A good quality product and the only tampons I trust to buy...these are! Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc. This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
