As long as you can get used to non-applicator tampons, this is a great product

Warning: This is a review of Tampax non-applicator tampons. If you have delicate sensibilities and may be offended by this topic please look away now!

The vast majority of the tampons on the market these days are applicator tampons, for good reason. Non applicator tampons are more difficult to use. Therefore I would not recommend them to first time or nervous tampon users. Having said that, if you are comfortable using applicator tampons you should be able to use these easily enough.

The main criteria I judge sanitary products on are comfort and protection. This product does extremely well on both. I feel very well protected when I am using these tampons, which is a big advantage and a time of month when I am feeling generally very grouchy and tired. As long as you insert the tampon properly it will be very comfortable - you can''t feel it at all.

The main advantage of Tampax non-applicator tampons over their other rangers is that they take up less than half the space when they are in your purse or handbag.

These particular tampons are rated regular for absorbency, which I find is good for a couple of days in the middle of my period after the first heavy day or two. Obviously this will vary from woman to woman, but the regular rating matches well with a medium flow as far as I am concerned.

In terms of value for money, Tampax branded products in general are a bit more expensive than other brands but there are two factors which I think makes this product worthwhile - they are very good quality, and in some of the places I shop they are the only non-applicator tampons available, so if I need them I have little choice.

I wont be rushing to the shops to buy them :(

To be honest i was quite suprised by these.
I usually use either tampons or towels depending on type of period but have always found the applicator tampons good.
      So...
Dissapointed by the fact that i just seemed to have many embarrassing moments when using the non applicator ones .
      Lets just say i would have been better using a `Happy shopper`Tea bag ! :) ... :/ soz tampax!
But still , i guess they tried and i'm sure that thousands of other woman will love them! .. er.. just not me! :)

        Disadvantages

I always vowed never to use a non-applicator tampon. Too close for comfort perhaps. But a couple of weeks ago I was intrigued by this product. I thought "It can't hurt to try". I'm really pleased with Tampax non-applicator Tampons. They're small enough to fit discreetly in your handbag, or in a make up bag in your bathroom (don't like to scare off my guests!). They have a little dimple for your finger so inserting them isnt a gross procedure. I've found them to be more comfortable than normal Tampax, just as absorbant, and they dont go fluffy at the end like normal Tampax can at times. The only down side is you cant flush the plastic wrapper down the toilet like you can with the paper wrapper on normal Tampax. But its a small price to pay.
