Advantages: They work!

Disadvantages: Very expensive if not on spesh...but worth it for me!

Ooooo I get miffed buying Tampons! they are so expensive, and associated with, for my a grim and miserable part of womanhood!!! I suffer from a condition called endometreosis, so my periods can be very hit and miss to say the least. Don't know whether I will get an easy light month, or a crippled with pain heavy horrid experience. Ho hum...grin and bear it, as it could be a million times worse, I have my 2 beautiful kids and it can scupper that for many many women! Sooooo Tampons....

I have been watching many many TV ads for these new Tampax Pearl tampons. It seems that they have invested millions in ensuring they are on at any time slot one or more woman will be watching! Its everywhere. It doesn't give much indication to the product itself. But crucially, it tells you that Sainsburys are selling them at half price!!! Enovgh to grab my interest!!! £1.49 for 18 is a good price!!!

I get the super Tampax Pearl. The packaging is very mvch like standard Tampax....blue base, with green to indicate the 'super' type. The only difference is the shape of the box in that it is more portrait...stands upright.

What is different??

You open the box, and that in itself is vastly improved, it has an overhanging lip that folds over, rather than a very cereal box standard opening that remains open generally that the previous sort have. It neatly folds right over into a neat tag that svbstantually clips into place, thvs avoiding your 19 months old getting them out with easy and playing with them like a prime early learning Centre toy!!!!

The wrapping, it is more like a sandwich....folded over and nipped in, not a paper tube that gets squished and smashed in a handbag. It seems a more resiliant plastic that has been well sealed. I must advise that I have not yet had these in my zippy inside pocket of my handbag for a month and had to put up with a random open Tampax the following month!! Will update if needed!!!!

the applicator is hard plastic, not a disolving cardboared, so will need to be disposed of in a bin rather than flushed. It is however totallydifferent to anything I have ever seen before. The top of the applicator is similar in that it contains a tampon, and has a missile head with slits in the top. It is more of an ellipse shape, with a narrow bottom applicator. feels odd and very different while using it. Its seems fidally, but it really isn't. No trouble at all in application. One of the selling points of the product is it suoer smooth applicator for an incredably comfortable experience...this is very much the case.

It claims to have perfect fit, much like lilets...it expands widthwise....bvt without the whole finger shoving experience!!! Perfect!

The other main difference of note is the Protection braid. As part of the string, it has a braiding, that offers more abdorbancy and giving you longer before you have any accidents. You should still get the discomfort of a full tampon, but seem to get a buffer zone!

All in all, an excellent Tampon, I will be stocking up while they are half price, but they are extremly expensive at £2.99 for 18!!!!
For my, I think yes worth it,as I have a girly condition that makes my period unpredictable. If a little more standard and easy, probably not worth the outlay.
4 star purly because of the high price tag!

Definatly give a go at the bargain price!

Summary: Stock up while half price!!
