The keeper is a natural gum-rubber cap used for collecting menstrual flow instead of a tampon. It is placed internally similarly to a tampon. Before you all switch off in disgust, it is actually very comfortable (more so than a tampon, I find) very reliable – no leaks yet, and more healthy – they’ve already banned one chemical from tampons due to the link with toxic shock syndrome, which one will they ban next? It also works out much much cheaper than years of tampons or sanitary towels and of course does not have the environmental impact of disposing of them.
