I over the past about 3 years have become an owner of about 15 hamsters some of which I bred myself and I have a particular love of Syrian Hamsters which are known by many names including teddy Bear Hamsters!
At the moment I own 2, a hamster I bred myself called Englebert and another short haired female I named Winifred Agnes, both are now a couple of years old.
It goes without saying that I need and use a lot of bedding for them and lets face it if you own hamsters without cleaning them out often they will seriously stink yours and their homes out and that why I buy this bedding often form my local B And M store for just 49p a pack!
This comes tightly packed in a see through plastic wrap that makes an oblong shape and on the front of that and in a dark blue colour we are told that it is Bob Martin My Little Friend Softwood Bedding and that it is 'Hygienic And Easy To Use, Creates A Comfy, Cosy Home' and there are pictures shown on there of a hamster and a rabbit and then on the back of the pack listed is other information including being told a bit about the product and how to store it and contact details for the manufacturer are given. This is not a resalable pack however I always use so much of it for two of the cages I have to clean out that I simply use a large clip that I use a for a freezer clip which is great for resealing this bag/pack up with and that works very well indeed.
I use this in both of hamsters cages as living material. It smells woody, looks like pine wood shavings and smells it and though is packed tight is easy enough to separate with my own fair hands. I am pleased that it isn't hard to declump for me and that its smells fresh but also my hammies seem to really like this stuff which is great cos its so cheap to buy and I don't need to buy it often cos it holds the smell in really well and helps to keep moisture away from them which is brilliant as I always want them to feel hygienic!
This is a really good and cheap option I think and I buy it often and we've never had any issues with it at all!
Widely available and Google if you wish for local stockists.
