Excellent insurance against the worst scenario (Direct Line Pet Insurance)

Advantages: Quick and easy process, competitive pricing, comprehensive cover

Disadvantages: Even competitive still costs quite a bit

I have recently been toying with the idea of taking out pet insurance as it's one of those catch 22 situations where you stop to wonder if the worst should happen. Of course we all hope it doesn't but for peace of mind I decided to take the plunge. The insurance policy I chose was with direct line as it's a name which appears many times on television adverts and this along with the competitive price, made my mind up for me.

Thankfully having never done anything like this before, I was relieved to see that this would not be too much of a lengthy process. The application itself was fairly easy to do as the options and information was presented in a clear concise manner which meant that it was easy to navigate through. Of course they wanted some basic information including the type of dog, the health of the dog, the age, but I didn't feel like I was being bogged down in detail.

Once the process was complete, I then had to await confirmation that the agreement had been concluded which arrived in a timely manner. There are of course some things which insurance will not cover against including underlying pre existing health issues with the dog and vaccines. This is understandable as really the purpose of the insurance is to cover against anything which may be too costly to simply cover individually. Some of the features of the policy include covering against third party damage, along with useful features like covering you for the cost of your pet if you happen to lose it.

I have yet to and hopefully won't need to in the foreseeable future make a claim. However since the process so far has been very easy going without running into any problems, I don't anticipate these problems occurring should a claim be made. This is definitely an insurance provider I would recommend if you are looking for quick hassle free, comprehensive pet insurance.
