I got one of these toys for my dogs when I went to Crufts this year.

It is quite a large toy, shaped like a giant sausage. It is made out of the same material that tennis balls are made from, so it is quite soft. It has a rope made from woven plastic attached to one end.

A lot of the toys in the Air Kong range squeak, but this toy doesn't, which is a bit disappointing. You can get a version of the fetch stick without the rope on which does squeak.

The Air Kong Fetch Stick comes in 3 sizes, so there is one to suit most dogs. Prices start from around £2.99 for the small size, so they're not too expensive.

What do you do with it?
It is a great toy to throw for your dog to fetch (the rope handle makes this easier). My dogs also like to chew it. It is also suitable to take down to a lake or river to play with as it floats in water. The rope means that you can play tug with it if you have a dog that likes that game.

Do dogs like it?
Yes! Both my dogs love playing with the Fetch Stick. It's looking a little worse for wear now - they have chewed the rope off (it didn't last long), and they are slowly removing the yellow felt from the outside. They love playing with it though, and often run around with it in the garden.

Advantages
Not too expensive.
The sausage shaped bit is quite durable.
Dogs love it.
It floats, which is good if you have a dog that likes swimming.
It is easy to find in grass out on walks as it is bright yellow.

Disadvantages
The rope bit is easy to chew off.
It's heavy, so you can't really throw it in the house without breaking something.
It gets grubby, especially if your dog plays with it in the garden.

I would recommend this toy for any dog that likes playing, but if you have a dog that likes chewing, it may be better to get the version that has the squeaker instead of the rope handle.
