INTRODUCTION Being the proud owner of two rather large dogs and a moulting cat, grooming it part of my everyday life, I can spend hours brushing and de-matting the animals to get rid of any excess hair that seems to gather up in every space possible. I have to hoover on a daily basis as they all shed hair, so I am always on the look out for new grooming tools to help limit the amount of hair that always seems to blanket my carpets. My dog Chloe is a Border Collie and seems to have so much dead hair falling out of her in the run up to summer that I need to groom her every day to keep my carpets from becoming mini dogs. This lessens in the winter months but she still requires a brush. I bought my latest brush from the local pet shop for around £4.00 and I think this is a reasonable price. The brush itself is two sided, with bristles on one side and pins on the other. The pin side is the one I use most often as they get right down into her fur and brush her for the entire length and depth or her coat. We actually have one of these and have had for a while, one side has bristles on it which are quite soft but very close together to smooth the hair off and the other side has prongs with little bobbles on the end like a hairbrush and it works more to massage the skin. I use the bobbly side first on my 2 cats and they love the massaging effect so it gets them in the mood for more brushing. Then I switch to the other side and brush them to take off loose hairs. I have to say they adore the bristle side and even like to rub their little cheeks on it, it's considered a great fuss tool in our house!
