I have a eight week old black labrador puppy called Max. When I brought him home two weeks ago the breeder had weaned him onto cudleys, but because my first dog kylie was on bakers, I ended up putting Max on bakers puppy. First of all let me say Bakers puppy food is easily available a most supermarkets and pet food shops. After reading soo many reviews saying its proberly one of, or even the first worst food to feed your dog, I am shocked that it seems so popular. I worked in a dog kennels for the year before I moved up to university, and my boss always used to despair of Bakers food. The food has got too many colours and flavourings, which seems to contribute to a lot of the dogs eating it being a bit hyperactive. The ingredients on their website say that they use EC additives to colour their food. This seems like a bit of a marketing ploy, as your dog can't see the colours, and most other major dry dog food manufacturers don't do this. I just got my first Puppy a Jack Russell terrier and was dubious about what to feed her. I have heard many a horror story about bakers food. Hair loss, extreme temperament, it's like giving a child McDonalds e.g. But I had no choice but to try this brand for myself. As she was weaned on to bakers puppy food by her breeder. So as to not upset her little tummy I bought a bag. Not badly priced £6 for 5kg from pets at home. She was fed this for the first 2 months of her life.
