... smell which if you have had the misfortune of having to feed a dog on tinned food you will know is an advantage! He has never had any problems with his stomach whilst on this food and he has been fed on very little else during his ten years with us! The only disavantage to him preferring the one without the veg is that you don't seem to be able to get that one in the huge bags, the biggest size available is the 5kg one. I also find that if you don't seal the bag carefully or empty it into an airtight tub the chunks se...more

Premium Review Bakers Complete: You'd Be Barking To Buy Bakers (682 words)
by - written on 27/01/08 (Very useful, 257 readings)
Rating:

Our puppy has just turned 6 months old, and when we first brought her home from the breeder, we were advised to leave her own Pedigree Chum Puppy Complete, as this is what she had been eating whilst with the rest of the litter. We did this until about 8 weeks ago when we noticed that there were many other brands which promised the same results as Pedigree but for considerably less money. We chose Bakers Complete by Purina for puppies/junior dogs up to 24 months old, mainly because it was more affordable but also because it was a brand name that we were aware of. There was only 1 flavour available in the 1kg box (cereal box size), and that was Beef and Vegetable, which ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bakers is a Dogs Best Friend (498 words)

I first tried my dog on Bakers Complete around four years ago and it has made my dog extremely happy and give him the ability to have a slightly normal life. Sandy was a resuce dog who was a cruelty case at the local dogs home and i rescued him when he was 6 months old. Not realising he was ill at the time, he was diagnosed with a chronic pancreatic insufficiency by the vet which means he is unable to digest his food properly. This condition is something common in German Shepherds and i was told that sometimes there is a possibility that it can rectify itself or they may have to live with it for the remainder of their life. He was put on a diet of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bakers Complete: Baker Completes your dogs diet. (333 words)

Bakers Complete, I love it, my Dogs love it. The reason I love Bakers Complete is because it has 6 different types of biscuit in it with all with it's own vitamin/mineral etc. The little white bone shapes gives your dog Calcium for healthy teeth and strong bones! The little 'spade' shapes has fibre, which is great for your dogs digestion. My dogs favourite pieces- the moist meaty chunks which provide protein which is good for growth and muscle development. The green biscuits gives your dog the important vitamins and minerals. The little black heart shapes has iron for healthy blood, charcoal and fresh ...  Read the complete review

would'nt feed it to a dog!!! (296 words)

We are currently getting ready to welcome our new puppy home in a week or so. It has been a little over 3 years since we lost our last beloved German Shepherd. He was fed predominantly on Bakers Complete. We had to have him put down at the tender age of 8, due to CDRM which is in effect the canine form of multiple sclerosis. The specialist orthopedic vet we took him to could not say for certain, why this condition is now becoming more prevalent in the canine world. Could it be something to do with what we are feeding our dogs?? We went to our pet store today to stock up for bringing our little chap home, the girl at the checkout looked at us in total horror when ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bakers Complete: ****BAKERS COMPLETE A HIGH QULITLY DOG FOOD**** (179 words)
by - written on 03/08/07 (Somewhat useful, 109 readings)

My dalmatian was on pedigree complete from it being a puppy, and as many people might know it is quite expensive i wanted another high quality dog food which was slightly cheaper, so i decided to go for Bakers complete. At asda it is £7.98 and at tescos £9.19 for a 6kg bag of the beef and vegetables flavour. My dalmatian bitch meg is not a fussy dog (really she will eat anything), but when we compared the pedigree with bakers she definatly prefered the bakers. I think another reason for me changing was that pedigree was so boring looking all the same little morsels whereas bakers has different shapes. Each different shape has different ...  Read the complete review
