Advantages: Cheap !!! other than that not a lot

Disadvantages: Do we really know what we are feeding our pets

We are currently getting ready to welcome our new puppy home in a week or so. It has been a little over 3 years since we lost our last beloved German Shepherd. He was fed predominantly on Bakers Complete. We had to have him put down at the tender age of 8, due to CDRM which is in effect the canine form of multiple sclerosis. The specialist orthopedic vet we took him to could not say for certain, why this condition is now becoming more prevalent in the canine world. Could it be something to do with what we are feeding our dogs??
We went to our pet store today to stock up for bringing our little chap home, the girl at the checkout looked at us in total horror when she saw the Bakers!!! "Your not going to feed your new puppy that are you " Why I asked She said do you know whats in it, I have to say she was not talking about additives and sugar!!! but more the bits of animals they can't feed to us. I stumbled upon an american site which would have made you hair stand on end. This guy was saying that pets who are put to sleep and left at the vets end up in our pets foodchain, along with the drug they use to put them to sleep as it doesn't break down;It was horrific.
I am not saying this is Bakers, but I think that as people who obviously care a great deal for our dogs, we should now be thinking am I prepared to give them something I would'nt be happy to eat myself. I found myself reading all the labels on the foods and came away with a natural product.

Summary: Do we really want to risk our beloved pets health
