... picture of the treats. The idea of these is that they are long lasting, they are basically a cream coloured shell, filled with a red/brown filling. The label says that they are low in fat, so you know that you are giving them something that should not make them gain weight (though as with anything, these treats should be fed in moderation - see the pack for details). You can buy these in normal and jumbo sizes. As our dog is medium sized, we buy the normal ones. These treats are available from most pet stores and super...more

Premium Review Bakers Meaty Twists: Doggilicious! (504 words)

*What are Meaty Twists?* These are long lasting chew treats for dogs which are made by the Bakers brand, which is part of the Purina company which also produces Go-Cat, Felix, Bonio and Winalot. *The product itself* Meaty Twists are very hard chew treats which consist of a hard white coloured shell filled with a brown meaty center. They look like a 'Pedigree Jumbone' which has been held at each end and twisted in different directions, the smell isn't too bad although they don't smell very appertising to me! *Packaging* These treats come in a blue and red plastic packet which has a picture of the product, the Bakers mascot and the ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review A longer treat for your woofer. (660 words)

In order to provide variety for my dog, I constantly change the treats I let her have in between meals. Her main meals always stay the same but her treats vary and this week I picked up the Bakers Meaty Twists from Sainsbury’s. They are not the cheapest treat at £1.45 for 2, by a long shot but she will only have one every other day in between her Bonio’s so it shouldn’t add too much to the pet food bill. Opening the shiny, plastic bag type housing the chews was easy. You simply tear one corner down, like a packet of Maltersers and out slips one of the chews. Thankfully there are only 2 in the packet; otherwise this style of packaging would maybe present a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bakers Meaty Twists: A doggy treat that looks like a bone but isn't a bone, trick ... (818 words)

Dogs needs constant attention, if we are not giving Hazel attention she either cries or jumps on the settee (both her ways of getting our attention!) The odd time I leave her during the day, be it only for 15 minutes while I hang the washing out (if she comes with me she jumps at it and it ends up very hairy, that's the only reason I keep her inside!) she whines and scratches at the door. She's a rescue dog and I'm sure whoever had her before us didn't come back for long periods of time, you can tell she isn't sure we'll come back whenever we leave her for any amount of time poor thing. So this is where the quest for long lasting treats to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twist and Bark! (610 words)

These Baker's Meaty Twists are another favourite in my household - well the dogs favourite anyway! Packaging One thing I like about these treats is that the packet is re-sealable which means that the treats stay fresh as there are 20 of so treats in each bag so its not like you can (or should) feed them all to your dog in one sitting. The packet itself is about a 12 inches tall and about 6 inches wide. The Bakers logo is written across the front of the packet in white. Meaty Twists is also written across the front with a picture of the treat on the front underneath the writing. Underneath this is the caption 'Its Dogilicious' On the back of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bakers Meaty Twists: Tasty treats just for dogs (434 words)

Bakers Meaty Twists Description: Brand: Bakers / Food Type: Dog Food If you have pets then you may have seen these on the shelf. As a dog owner, I often feel that I want to give her treats, but am also very conscious of the fact that these treats should be designed for dogs, rather than humans, so while she may look longingly at my chocolate biscuit, it isn't actually good for her and if I gave her it, I wouldn't be doing her any favours. On that basis, I try to ensure that we have a supply of goodies intended just for canines so that she can have something nice, which I can give to her without being irresponsible. These treats come in ...  Read the complete review
