Bob Martins Spot On
I have found it very interesting (and distressing) to read these reviews about Bob Martins Spot on.
My very healthy, 8 year old cat, Shadow, died a very horrific death yesterday, within hours of applying this treatment. We had used this treatment before on him, so had no reason to expect any adverse affects.
Our other cat, who was also treated had significant side effects, although recovered within a couple of hours (again she had had this treatment applied on a number of previous occasions).
If I had known before how dangerous this stuff could be; If there had been any such warnings on the packet, I would NEVER had bought it. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE RISK WITH YOUR CAT.
If your cats need treating for fleas, DO NOT use this product, you cannot take the risk...In glorious hindsight, I would have paid more and bought the stuff they sell at the vets

- 04/04/07 Sorry, I am not familiar with this site and did not know how my review was going to be presented. My intentions was that it was to be read alongside the other reviews of this product, which included other distressing stories about this product. Just for clarification, the product was applied correctly and my cat had been treated with this product before, without reaction.
As he was a very healthy cat, died within a few hours of having this product applied, had been indoors the whole time and the circumstances relating to his death (which are too ditressing at this time to talk about) were identical to the other reviews, I feel that there is no doubt that the product caused his death. Unfortunately, when I found him, he had been dead for a number of hours. Without an autopsy therefore, the vet can only presume that his death was from a very bad reaction, on this occasion, to the product. Bob Martin are currently doing fur tests...so I will update this site when I have more news. It may be interestng to note what the lady at Bob Martin said when I phoned with my serious complaint "let me just see what the procedure was with the last one"...she changed the subject, when I pressed her further! |
