Advantages: Helps get rid of plaque and tartar on teeth
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
My dogs always get a couple of treats to go to bed with and I like to vary their treats and try to find ones that aren’t to fattening or unhealthy. Here I will be reviewing Bonio Dog Biscuits.
Packaging
Bonio Dog Biscuits come in a red box with Bonio written across the front is the shape of a bone. At the bottom of the packet is a picture of the top half of the head of a Basset Hound. On the back of the box is all the usual info such as ingredients and a customer comments address and phone number.
The Bonio
The Bonio biscuit itself is shaped like a bone and is a light brown colour with the word Bonio imprinted on the actual biscuit. The biscuit is fairly large, about 3 inches long which is good as some dogs treats are so small, my dogs literally swallow them whole so at least with Bonio’s they actually have to chew them before swallowing.
Price
The Bonio boxes come in various sizes and therefore have varying prices. I buy my Bonio’s from Tesco and here a 650 gram box costs 98p and a 1.2 kg box costs £1.97.
Taste and Smell
To be honest, these biscuits don’t really look or smell that appetizing to me. The smell similar to normal dog biscuits and I can imagine them being quite dry to eat (although obviously not going to try them!)
However, my dogs definitely seem to like them. As I already mentioned, my dogs actually have to sit down and chew them. It takes them a minute or so to actually eat the whole biscuit and they are crumbly, leaving a bit of a mess on the floor which they hoover up with pleasure!
Apparently Bonio’s are proven to help reduce plaque and tartar on your dog’s teeth so not only will your dog enjoy Bonio’s, they are also good for their teeth.
Range
As well as the product I have just reviewed, Bonio also do other varieties. They produce Bonio original, Bonio Marrowbone and Bonio Beef flavour. As well as doing this multi-pack they also so smaller snack size biscuits as well as the Big Bonio Bone which is one large Bonio biscuit.
Summary
The Bonio biscuit is reasonably priced, your dogs will enjoy it and it is also good for their teeth. They are healthy and not fattening as they are made from natural ingredients so these are especially good if you are watching the weight of your dog.
Summary: A healthy, well priced treat for you dog.
