Advantages: great texture, don't smell, good price, dog likes em

Disadvantages: none I can think of

Our Pomeranian is an extremely fussy eater & I'm really surprised that he's as healthy as he is considering how little he eats in the form of 'proper' meals. To be honest I much prefer our cat because she doesn't bark, but hubby & daughters dote on our Pom & hubby will often come home with treats for him.

The latest favourite is Bonio dog biscuits which can be bought in several flavours, chicken, original or beef which all claim to 'keep tails wagging'. They do a large bone biscuit as well as a Bitesize Variety Pack & all go down well with our canine friend.

They come is 2 sizes of boxes - 350g for around £1.15 or 1.2kg for around £2.34 & we tend to buy the smaller boxes in case he goes off them.

Each bone is pale brown, has very little smell, measures about 3" & has 'Bonio' engraved onto each one. They are crunchy & hard but don't leave crumbs everywhere so compare well to other similar products we've come across that leave a real mess & stink to high heaven.

The box is bright red with pictures of bones, a healthy dog & the Purina & Bonio logos plus the flavour chosen. Once open you notice that the bones aren't sealed in any way & although there's not really a smell I think it's best to pop them in a container to keep them crunchy & maintain the flavour.

On the reverse of the pack there's some fairly interesting information about other Bonio products, a website address & a dog & bone number.

They claim to be healthy & nutritious but when it comes to reading what's actually in these bones & how healthy they actually are I can't tell you as the printing of this info is far too small for me to read even with my specs on.

Apart from keeping their tails wagging Bonio state that these are good for dogs' teeth as the texture helps scrape away tartar & their 'special recipe' helps prevent cavities & gum disease. Hopefully they'll keep the vet's bills down then?

They're suitable as a treat for any time of day & our Pom seems to love them. I can't say that they do what they claim but having had a quick look inside his mouth it seems that he doesn't have any cavities & there's no sign of gum disease plus his breath doesn't smell.

summary
~
- well priced.
- our Pom loves the taste & texture.
- I like them because they don't smell.
- recommended treat for dogs.

Summary: a great treat for dogs

I'm sure I keep Bonio in business with the amount of boxes of these I buy for Grace and Benson per month! Great review.
