I became a Burns convert a few years ago now when I worked in boarding kennels. A representative from the company came to see us and taught us about all the nutritional values and health benefits for dogs and we were all intrigued. We bought some and trialed it on our own dogs and within just a few months we stocked just ab out every product they ... Read the complete review

We have a lurcher (greyound/collie cross) and greyhounds are known for their sensitive tummies. Dylan (our dog) was a rescue, and the foster home he was in had been feeding him puppy Burns dog food, so we carried on and progressed him to the adult version as he got older. In that time, we have tried a couple of other equivalent dog foods Arden ... Read the complete review

The breeder I got my Labrador puppy from had been feeding her burns puppy mini bites since she was weaned. So I carried on feeding her burns instead of changing her to another cheaper, more widely available food.
She's now 6 months old and thriving! She's a perfect weight and constantly gets compliments on the condition of her coat and teeth.
A 15kg bag is £38 from my local pet store.
I am certain I shall feed her burns all her life and have recently changed her to the high energy lamb flavour for large breed puppies.

Burns is a range of pet food developed by John Burns, a Veterinarian who takes a holistic approach to the heath of animals. All products are hypo-allergenic and free from artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives. They cater for Cats, Dogs and Rabbits with both dry and wet foods though I only have experience with the Adult Dog Dry ... Read the complete review

I've been feeding Burns to my three dogs for about a year now having been looking for a high quality dry complete food (I had been feeding Nature Diet). I had tried others in that time but the dogs would eat them for a few weeks then start to leave. Also I found that with most foods they would produce mountains of "waste" - ugh! But with ... Burns pet food is fine until you discover an unknown mass of thick black hair and claws within their wet food. An exchange of letters and analysis, left a very poor taste in our mouths, luckily not in our dogs mouths. We shall never buy from Burns again and have still not had the matter resolved satisfactorily, as Burns conveniently lost the ... Read the complete review

The best dog food ever, quite simply!!! I had a pancreatic dog and decided to change its food. It was on an equally expensive brand royal canin and started to become ill. I switched to Burns and he has been so healthy I am so amazed. Like everyone says if you knew what goes into dog food, even expensive Royal Canin, you would ... Read the complete review

My chocolate labrador bitch " Bonnie" is now 8 years old. We have tried her on a few dog foods over the years, the last one being Bakers. Over the last 6 to 8 months she has developed a few problems: running eyes, dry flakey skin, contiual moulting & worst of all Ananl Gland problems. In desperation I emailed the Burns helpline, the ... Read the complete review

*What is Burns?* Burns is a range of pet foods which caters for dogs, puppies, cats and rabbits, produced by veterinarian John Burns as an alternative to the highly popular but very low quality brands such as Pedigree and Bakers. Both dry food and moist diets are available but during this review I will be concentrating on the Dry Food for ... Read the complete review

Both our Welsh Terriers were 'fussy eaters' sometimes even refusing to eat! We tried all sorts, Nutro, James wellbeloved, iams, winalot, ceaser but nothing worked. They lost interest in going for walks, often had upset tummies, developed skin conditions: 1 even started going bald and was so itchy you couldn't even stroke her along her back. It was dreadful when both developed nail bed infections and it was suggested that this was due to chronic skin conditions! After some thorough research decided on Burns Duck and rice and have never looked back. They are both fit, healthy, full glossy coats, bursting with energy (our 8 yr old acts more like a 2yr old now), and are interested in life again. We are so happy to have done something that our pets obviously approve of and hope to give them a longer happier life thanks to Burns.

This food is terrible, my lab did not thrive on it and as others have said ate anything because he was so hungry. He did not thrive developed diarrhoea - and to the poster who suggested that the person who described their dog as a toast rack was just not used to seeing a "normal" dog, my dog at 13 months weighed less than 15 kg and was described as skeletal, he now weighs 36 kg and is not fat (according to my vet he is just right!)
The Burns helpline was terrible and as other people have reported told me to reduce what he was being fed and blamed me for the problems
My dog has been left with an ongoing condition I am not sure whether that is down to Burns or not but I will never feed it again. Terrible stuff!

Wow! Really surprised to read your review and those of others who share your experience. Thankfully, my experience of Burns Pet Food has been completely different. Have had three dogs on it for about four years and would never now use anything else. They are all in fantastic health, look great, have loads of enthusiasm for life and have never, ever tried to eat their own faeces...yuk!

When we bought our new setter puppy home we were given a supply of Beta puppy food together with an information sheet of how much and when to feed him. All went well for the first few months and he grew quickly and was fit and healthy. However when he got to about 7 months old he decided to go on hunger strike. He was fit and healthy and seemed to ... Read the complete review

Many of you would be surprised at how much complete and utter rubbish is in most well known dry dog foods, such as Pedigree and Bakers. My 4 year old West Highland Terrier Max had been fed on Pedigree Complete since he was a puppy right up until a year or so ago, until I came across a website about how awful some dog foods are, they are full of ... Simply the best dog food money can buy! I have been a dog owner for over thirty years and this is the best, most healthy and natural food you can give to your beloved pets. I was staggered to hear one owners negative review about his dogs eating faeces and losing weight! I will say two things: 1. In 30 years, I have never met or owned ... Read the complete review

I discovered this food after looking at the website www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk and thought I would try some from our local stockist where we now buy our Burns dog food for my son & daughters Border Collies. My dogs used to be very fussy but not now I have changed to Burns. This dog food seems to have rejuventated them! They no longer turn their noses up at the food bowl. This is only my opinion in the face of a whole host of positive opinions of this product. My experience is of having fed my two dogs LabxDal (2yrs) and Dal (1yrs) on Burns. I used Burns Pet Food for over a year with my 4 dogs. All of them were very skinny on it and started to eat their faeces, which they have never done before. I contacted Burns for advice and was told to reduce the food even more. I spoke to a senior member of this company about my concerns and received a very aggressive, negative response. At ...
