This means that I cannot have a litter tray that is too high as she wouldn't manage to climb into the thing! Her litter trays are all quite shallow as a result. If you have a new kitten, bear in mind too that any smaller-sized tray you have bought him will be ideal when he is smaller, but may well be grown out of in a year or so ...more

Cat Litter & Litter Boxes in general: Use organic clumping litter (159 words)

We have 7 indoor cats so you can imagine we've become experts on cat litter over the years. First tip, always go for clumping litter. Its much easier to clean and keeps the smells down. The cheaper supermarket brands aren't recommended. Worlds best is great but way too expensive. We use a wholesale brand that we buy on eBay. Its similar to worlds best but a lot cheaper. If your interested search for auction 220204169244 , seller id: is art_shopn1 . We've also tried all sorts of cat litter trays. We used an automatic self cleaning one for a while but it still need a lot of maintenance so it didn't really save much time. Second tip, buy ...  Read the complete review

I grew up always having dogs as pets and had never even really met a pet cat as all of my friends also owned dogs. When I bought my own house I thought the best pet to get would be a cat as they are more independent than dogs and I would feel a lot better having one especially as I do work. So we got my little cat Harry and he is a little sweetie but a complete pain when it does come to his litter box. Now I have gained advice from a lot of people now including other cat owners, pet stores and the vets so I thought I would share my advice about cat litter and litter boxes with you all as now Harry is brilliant with his litter box. So ok if we firstly ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cat Litter & Litter Boxes in general: The other end of the cat (795 words)

We have five cats at home, our house is quite large and they are happy as they have freedom to roam around the house as they please. Cats are naturally clean animals and are easily litter trained, from about five or six weeks of age they will use a litter tray with a little encouragement and that will be with them for life. Unfortunately not all cats are very good at using litter trays, from small kittens who find it difficult to get in and out of the deeper sided trays to the cat who needs a larger tray because if it is not big enough they will squat over the edge and leave a mess outside of the tray. Not forgetting the worst type of cat of all, the one ...  Read the complete review

Who would have thought the cats toilet would provoke so many thoughts! I have been a cat owner for around a year, and in that time have used loads of types of cat litter, here are some of my thoughts. At first, we had a simple litter tray. However, Shadow would just scatter the litter around the floor so I upgraded to a large tray with hood and cat flap. The cat loves this , in fact we found him cowering in there hiding from little guests who insisted on following him. He realised it was the only place he could get peace and quiet. The only disadvantage to the lidded tray is that the liners you buy are too small. I just use black binbags instead. I dont ...  Read the complete review

As a cat owner, I know how important it is to make sure my old girl has her needs met. She is a fussy old thing, getting rather clingy in her old age whilst still being the show-off that she always was. I have had several cats over the years and they were of course very individual and unique in their own little way; each had their own little foibles and unique personality and so therefore each had different needs. It is important to consider many things when you decide to take on a cat. There are many common misconceptions about them not living very long for example which are simply untrue. My old girl - her picture is on my Dooyoo profile - is ...  Read the complete review
