Advantages: best for reducing unpleasant aromas

While my female cat Phobe prefers to use a certain outside area in the back my pampured half persian Janga (who is my profile pic) has never taken to this idea at all and turns his nose up at the idea!

I have tried every cheaper option going hoping against hope that they will be as good as Catsan - but I always come back to this most reliable litter.

Not the cheapest by any means and rarely on offer this currently costs £4.40 for 10 litres at Tesco.

This is packaged in fully recyclable, heavy duty material and is just exactly as the picture shows with a gorgeous puss puss on the front.

Despite the recomendation on the package to fill your litter tray to 5cm I have found you can easily get away with less. I tear open one corner of the packet and pour around 3cm in depth into the tray, as I am a real fusspot I then sprinkle over some cat litter deodoriser (this comes in a shake n vac style container) and mix in for extra help. Every day I will remove the wet litter which is easy to find as it is heavily absorbed and darker in colour - when not damp the litter is pure white, once a cat as done a number "one" it goes a browner colour - it is easily scooped out and placed into a bag for disposal along with any number "twos" which clump together and are also easily removed with my scoop. I then top up with litter and leave. I do completely change the litter every few days.

Their claims and my opinions

Guaranteed Odour Prevention due to a unique formula of mineral granules which is patented - I have found this to be the most effective litter but I cannot say it eliminates all odour 100%

Micropores allow Catsan to absorb liquid like a sponge - Once agin not strictly like a sponge but it is the most absorbant litter I have found.

This is more costly but I find I do not need to completely change the litter quite as often as with cheaper options, therefore there is probably little difference in a months supply of this versus a cheaper, less effectve product - and my home stays smelling fine which is essential for me.

Summary: Well worth it and I believe nicest for cats
