Recently I was in one of my favourite shops which is Pets At Home. I have three gorgeous hamsters and am constantly on the lookout for things with them to play with in their cages so that they don't get bored. I spotted this costing £3.49 and decided to treat one of my girls (Maud Fanny) a gorgeous chocolate button coloured Syrian who is 12 weeks old (ish) to this (the other two got other things don't worry and reviews of lots of other small animal reviews will be following at some point on here I'm sure lol).
When I spotted this instore it was unpackaged and it simply comes made up and thats it so what you see at the top of this review page is what you get including the colour of it as I have since learnt that this only comes in the purple, yellow and jade green option. I chose this because it is already assembled and I'm no good erecting things (ahem lol) but also I want things in the cages that are sturdy cos my lot are daredevils with no fear at all and I want things to withstand there rough behaviour!
This is a rather large see-saw which is something I didn't stop and think about in store. The measurement of this is listed on the Pets At Home website which is H 15 x W 14 x D 5 cm and like I say it is ready assembled and ready for you furry friend to play with. Suitable for most rodents apparently all of mine fit in this however my small Russian Dwarf is too small to make it do its see-saw action (bless poor Doris Pearl lol). My big Syrian who is a long haired male (Trevor Arnold) fits in this too and he really is a big beast!
You can dismantle it for washing it but what you get is two ridged, see though purple plastic tubes which are ridged inside for grip then three bright yellow rings, one to attach the two tubes together at the middle and then one on each end of it to obviously make the ends covered so there are no sharps for your pet to hurt itself on.
The stand is green and thick plastic and over that the tube goes and thats it. That is the see-saw in a nutshell.
Like I say though the main issue with this is space in a cage. It needs enough room for your small furry to get in and out of and enough room to, to go up and down. It is quiet though, but saying that Maud Fanny prefers to stand on the top of hers and try to be nosey at the other hamsters I own who are in the room.
I like the way it is easy to pull apart and put back together so the cleaning of it is simple however in hindsight I did get something a bit too big! I may have to take this out of Mauds cage eventually but then this would be good if putting together a playpen (which I'm getting next) but really other than using this as a step it gets a thumbs down from Maud but looks nice in her cage!
Not awful, good quality and looks nice though make sure you have lots of space in cage for this (I own Ferplast ones for all of mine in different designs and are not small!).
