I definitely wouldn't recommend the crittertrail revolution. (Crittertrail)

Advantages: Crittertrail cages are good if you buy the right ones.

Disadvantages: The crittertrail revolution isn't suitable as the only cage for your hamster.

For Easter we decided to get our girls a hamster we thought it would be a great pet for them as there easy to look after, quite cheap and the girls will be able to watch the hamster while he's in his cage. My husband decided to pick the cage and he got the crittertrail revolution which is basically a big wheel with two small levels the first level is where they can have a drink and the second level has a little house that they can sleep in and there's little steps up to the food which his on the roof of the house. The cage was reduced in the pet shop to 20 pound

I wouldn't really recommend this house as we have a dwarf hamster and he can't even make the wheel go round as it's too heavy so it is not suitable. Hamsters need exercise and I always think a wheel is a must have when having a hamster. So we decided to buy an extension and brought a fairly large crittetrail cage with lots of tubes one leads up to a snug little room where we put treats for him. The other tube leads up to a big ball which he can use as much as he wants it's just the same as a wheel except you can take it off and he can use it as a ball for running around the house in. When he runs around in the ball you can barely hear him I have had hamsters before when I was younger and there was nothing worse then hearing the wheel going round when you're in bed. To join the extension we used one of the small tubes that we had.

My husband chose to buy the critter trail cage as the colours were nice and bright blue, yellow, green, purple and yellow and he said he thought it looked good but next time we buy a cage we will definitely look more into it as I would pick one with more things to do and one with plenty of space. Our hamster is fine now as he has the two cages which have plenty of space but he would have hated just having the crittertrail revolution to play in.

Summary: Overall you can get some nice crittertrail cages but I wouldn't recommend the revoulution one
