I have just personally bought my own crittertrail one cage too. It does seem very small but so far i'm very impressed with the range of add-ons crittertrail supply. Not supposedly very ideal as a breeding cage but adjustments can be made, such as blocking off the tunnels so the babies cannot get stuck etc etc.
The colourful and 'funky' look makes it very suitable for kids need of a cage for 'Their first Pet' but i think most kids would after a while decide that an upgrade to a bigger cage such as crittertrail 2 or 3.
One big problem these days are plastic commercial cages. They do not really suit hamsters need to chew and tube ends, food bowls etc will soon be found chewn. Traditional wire cages suit this purpose well but problems accure when it does not look interesting enough.
Overall though, my opinion of this cage/company is positive. Its well made, great for kids and not very expensive at all!

Summary:
