Advantages: Great fun, exercise for cat and you!

Disadvantages: You need a fair amount of room.

The Da Bird sounds simple and it is, but honestly the response you get from your cat will be amazing.

It is basically a plastic rod that comes in two parts with a string and a clasp at the end. The actual Da Bird bit is the feathery attachment you get. There is something about this that makes cats go nuts.

A few of my friends told me about it and warned me that I would have to hide it away from the boys as cats love it so much. Being a bit sceptical, however always on the lookout for great new cat toys, I decided to give it a go.

All I have to say is make sure you have a nice big space to play with it! My boys were intrigued even when I was opening the packet.

You can just swoosh the Da Bird around like a normal toy or you can make it fly through the air. This makes the Da Bird feathery bit rotate and obviously makes the cat thing its alive, a nice bird perhaps?!

I could try and describe how my cats react to the toy, but I do have to store it away, out of paws reach when we aren't playing with it. I learnt this the hard way and came home one day to a feathery nightmare! There is a lot of stalking that goes on, a lot of chattering (anyone with Bengals or other vocal cats will know what I mean!). It's a great way to exercise your cat as they will definitely chase this for as long as you are willing to fling it around.

The great thing about this as well is that you can get feather Da Bird refills, so that the fun can keep going. You can also get other "attachments" to vary the fun. I bought a Da Mousey which is a little tiny mouse that is kind of brisstley. And I have to say for one of my cats, Dylan, this was better than the feather attachment. He even pulled it off the Da Bird rod and refused to let me put it back on, and carries it around making me play fetch with it! Lol

You can purchase the Da Bird online, including eBay for around £6. The refills can vary in price but for around £3 you can buy 3 feather refills.

It's a great toy, and a great bonding experience!

Summary: A great toy for cats.

Thanks for your description. I have Siamese and Orientals, and have been thinking of getting one of these. I definitely will now!
