Advantages: Easy to Open, Lots of flabours , value for money.
Disadvantages: I guess they are a bit smelly, especially the cod one.
I was so excited to hear my friends cat had kittens and couldnt wait untill the one promised to me arrived.
What I was going to feed my new cat was one of my biggest concerns about getting the kitten, I wasnt sure if I had to get the tins that said Kitten or if any food would be okay , also I knew cats like milk but is there a certain amount of milk a kitten needs ( like a human baby ??!!??) and many people gave contradicting advice....
"oh my cat only eats Whiskas"
"feed it the cheapest you can find, she wont know the difference"
"dont bother with cat meat my cat lives on biscuits"
'' Kittens have to have at least 1/4 pint of milk twice a day''
So, I went online and typed kitten food into the search engine, the first name that appeared on the list was Felix.
I entered the Whiskas site and was pleased to find that Felix were offering a free sample of their kitten food to everyone that completed their online form.
The form was easy to complete and asked basic details about my new kitten, within a week the pack had arrived and it was excellent.
In my pack there was 4 free pouches of food, loads of information leaflets, a toy mouse and some money off coupons.
When my kitten arrived, she went straight to her food bowl and started to eat, she seemed to love it so I went straight to the shops to buy some more.
Just like humans cats like to eat a variety of food and they like different flavours so its great that Felix pouches come in loads of different flavours, your cat also has the choice of weather it has its meat in jelly or gravy.
The flavours I have come accross are:
cod in jelly
salmon in jelly
salmon and trout in jelly
lamb in gravy
beef in gravy
chicken in gravy
chicken in jelly
duck in gravy
My local store sells packs of 12 pouches for £2.67.
I have found that one pouch for a kitten can last 2 meals and a whole pouch is needed for a grown cat.
The pouches are easy to use, all you have to do is tear along the top and squeeze the contents into the cats dish, you can then put the packaging in the bin and thats that! It saves time, no can opener needed, you dont have to use your cutlry to spoon the food out and you dont have to worry about storage, I hate the thought of storing open tins in my fridge. yuk!!!
I found the pouches brilliant when I went on holiday, I asked a neighbour to put fresh water in my cats bowl daily and left food in the shed with her bowls, as it is summer it would have been disgusting to have had to leave opened cans in the shed atracting flies and allsorts, so the pouches really came in handy, I just had to leave her the right amount of pouches and that was that, no fuss!
Felix has everything you need for your grownig cat, there is no need for extra vitamins or minerals, it has all the nutrition needed.
I have also recieved sample food from other companies but my fluffy definitly preferes Felix, and for variety, price and ease so do I.
I have rated this as 5 star because its really good for my cat and also reasonably priced and easy to store and open.
Summary: My experience of Felix cat food.

- 13/04/08 Great review, my cats are so fussy; they used to eat this but now they are eating Sheba which costs a fortune compared to felix. If i was a cat im sure i would prefer Sheba too because it looks and smells more appetising lol :O)X |
