Advantages: A variety of tins, pouches and foil trays Different tempting flavours!

Disadvantages: The cat doesn't think so!!

I don't know if it is the weather being warm at the moment, but my cat seems to be right off his food. I usually buy him Whiskas which he laps up very eagerly usually, but not the last few days. So I thought that maybe a change is called for to get his tastebuds back on track.

On going down the pets aisle in Tesco's where do I begin they have so many different brands, once I have chosen a brand the choice doesn't stop there. Do I want one in jelly or gravy, Do I want poultry, fish or assorted meats!

On choosing a single tin ( in case he doesn't wants this either !) I went for the Felix brand with chicken in jelly. This label is very eye catching with the
black and white cat on the front, looking the same as the one on the television commercial. This cat reminds me of one of my cats that died a couple of years ago, I still miss him as he was exactly the same as the one on TV very mischievious and funny!

The lid has a large paw print on the top of it with a ring pull. On pulling the lid off I can see a firm jelly with tiny little chopped up squares of meat. When
spooning into his bowl I can break it up very easily. He has heard the ring pull go and decides to wander over at his own pace for a look!

Hooray He Likes It!!!

The tin says that it is made from quality meats which I believe that it is and so does he! This is a complete cat food and for an average cat (3.5kg) they should be fed a tin a day. My cat likes to eat little and often, where my other cats in the past prefered to eat in the morning and at night. they are all so different!

You can buy this cat food in single cans, which isn't a bad idea if trying for the first time. They also sell them in packs of 6 and you can get packs of 12 as well. They come in a variety of different fish and meat combinations for example:

~~~ Felix Meat Variety ~~~
2 x Duck and Heart
2 x Beef
2x Chicken
~~~Felix Gravy Selection ~~~
2 x Tuna and Salmon
2 x Chicken and Turkey
2 x Rabbit and Game

~~~Felix Fish Variety~~~
2 x Tuna
2 x Cod and Plaice
2 x Salmon and Prawn
~~~Felix Mixed Selection~~~
2 x Tuna in jelly
2 x Beef in jelly
2 x Chicken in jelly

~~~Felix Senior Mixed Selection~~~
2 x Tuna
2 x Beef
2 x Chicken
The Senior car food is for cats that are 8 years and over, as at this age their
nutritional needs change and this is catered for in the senior range.
They also do a kitten range which comes in foil trays or pouches.
The prices at Tesco's are as follows at this present time:
1 tin 56p
6 pack £3.49
12 pack £6.46
these are 400g tins.
The pouches vary in price depending on which flavour you choose:
1 pouch 36p
12 pouches from £3.42-£4.26
24 pouches £8.36
48 pouches £15.37
these are 100g pouches.
The foil trays vary again accordingly to which flavour you choose:
1 foil tray from 29p-35p
12 foil trays are on offer at the moment 2 for £5.50 which is good as they are usually around the £3.50 mark each. These are 100g each.
This food is made by Purina who also are the makers for the first complete
dry cat food over 30 years ago and that was Go-Cat. They also make :
Purina One
Purina Veterinary Diets
Pro Plan
Gourmet ( the posh one!)
Winalot
Bonio
Beta
So they seem to know what they are doing when it comes to pets food. Well
at least I've got my cat eating again as it can be a bit of a worry. Two years ago one of my cats stopped eating ( she was this ones mum ) she was only
9 years old so not that old. She seemed like she had a slight eye infection
with which I took her to the vets, he put her on some antibiotics and wanted to see her in four days time. She was no better and on further
tests he discovered that she had a turmour that was possibly cancer. He said that she was to weak to operate on and that she should be put to sleep. Which is what I had to do. That was a week and a half as the night before my beloved 12yr dog had a stroke and died, so all was not good that week!!
On a cheerier note I hope your cats enjoy their Felix as much as mine has at least he is eating again!!!!!
Summary: A good qualty cat food
