You need to run the light around 8 hours a day for health benefits to the fish, this is ideal when you are home - however due to the nature that both te light and the filter run off the same adaptor, you cannot plug the lights into a timer switch. The addition of a separate plug for the light would be a great addition as its beneficial for weekend's away or longer holidays.

We bought this 97 litre tank last Christmas - bought on a bit of a whim to be honest without doing enough research. It's a nice looking tank and in the box has everything you need. Firstly the TANK: Its 30"W x 12"D x 18"H (approx) its of good solid construction and you can choose either beech or silver finish. The lid comes complete with a light unit fitted within - we have found this adequate and gave not had any algae problems. However if you wanted to grow live plants you would need to upgrade the bulbs. The tank comes with a biological and mechanical filter which after seven months has not let us down.
