I am the proud new owner of a very cute eight week old labrador puppy.

We brought him home when he was six weeks, in the puppy pack was some of the food he was weaned on.
That food was chudleys puppy, but I couldn't find that food in the pet shop near us.

We decided to try him on bakers puppy, reason being our late dog kylie loved it. What a mistake that was but you can read about that in my review of bakers.

Last week I went to another pet shop and asked for some advice and the lady recommended Beta as a mid of the range dog food, She said she feeds her chocolate labrador it.

I decided to buy a bag on her recommendation.

The bag cost me just over £5 for a 3kg bag of beta puppy.

The bag is yellow with picture of a yellow labrador running across the beach. The labelling tells you that the food is rich in meat and that the dual sized kibble is good for better oral health and digestion.

The food itself looks less appealing that bakers if I am to be honest.

The kibble comes in round and star shape, both brown in colour. The round kibble is exactly the same size and colour of rabbit droppings.

The kibble does not smell offensive like so many pet foods.

The main reason we will be sticking to beta is Max's stools are well formed where as on both previous feeds, they had been very loose.

He also seems to have lots of energy being on it, however with all babies he sleeps alot too.

I have not had any problems with him being windy, which I am not sure if this is to do with the food.

Sorry if that was a bit too much information but its true.

Max seems to enjoy the food and woofs it down.
