Advantages: Cleaning their teeth while eating, flavour variety, great company, age variety.
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive complared to cheaper, less healthier options.
Now, I dont normally buy the Bag, but rather the Boxes of cat food, at 950g. Our local supermarket stocks about 5 Flavours, of which the majority or either Chicken, Turkey or some sort of Fish, mixed together.
The cats have never complained either, and they particularly enjoy the white bones in some flavours (I couldnt tell you the flavour of them) and they have been known to just mooch around looking for the white bones in there, and eating them and them ONLY. They eat the rest when they get hungry, though.
The main selling point about this brand of food, is the name. Purina are a massive company, and they actually care about your pet, and this food gives them the Nutrients and other ingredients needed for a healthy, long living kitty-cat. They also do another selection for Indoor Cats, one for the more 'Mature' Cat and one for the Kittens.
One thing to note, is that many people dont know that you should actually stick to one brand of Cat Food when feeding your cat, because changing means the whole internal system of your cat must change, and this can cause complications, and can result in a small fortune being spent at the Vets.
So, if you buy GoCat, stick to it. At around the £2.20 mark for a 950g box, its not cheap, but it is worth it. And every now and again, Tesco and Asda reduce them to £1.20ish, for special promotions.
The other bonus? Dry food is good for your Cats Teeth! It cleans them AS they eat, unlike canned food, which actually increases plaque and tooth decay.
Summary: Its the dry food of healthy, long living cats! Cheapness kills!

- 23/02/09 Well, medically, you shouldnt swap over constantly. But swapping over once or twice wouldnt be too bad, I guess, and giving them a treat of meat every now and again doesnt hurt. ;) |

- 20/02/09 Good review. Not quite sure about only sticking to one brand of food though- that'd be near impossible for most cat owners! |
