Advantages: VERY EASY TO USE
Disadvantages: NONE AT ALL
I have been using frontline spot on for cats for over ten years. I have two cats now both fourteen years old. I originally used a spray flea control treatment but it's very difficult to hold down a clawing cat and I found my cats were scared of the spray treaments and that frontline drops are much easier and friendlier to use on the cats and don't distress the cat.It was originally only available from my vets and your cat had to be registered there and was at the time quite expensive really, costing over nearly £4 for each dose.
I though have never had a problem with an outbreak of fleas due to constantly using this brand and wouldn't use one of the cheaper brands available at the supermarket which in my opinion are a waste of money and don't do what they are intended to do.
Frontline is now available from several places and easy to purchase and especially online. I purchase mine from a company that is online, petmeds and costs £17.38 for six six 0.5ml pipettes and I also go through quidco for a further five percent discount. Delivery of frontline is usually within a couple of days and I've never had a problem with the company.
The simple explanation to frontline is that all cats have fleas and fleas breed fast and lay eggs. Your cats will catch fleas from other cats in the neighbourhood to. If using frontline the flea that goes onto you cat will bite the cat and because it has been treated with frontline the flea with eventually die and prevent it from laying more eggs on your cat or in your home. In your home a flea egg can lay dormant for a long time but I have never had a problem with an outbreak of fleas and believe it through using frontline on a regualr basis and I would never change brands or use another product.
I put frontline to the back of my cats neck to prevent them from licking it off them and it very simple to use by easily peeling back the corner of the foil wrapper the pipette comes in, take the blue pipette and easily and simply snap off the top and on the back on the cats neck, squeeze out the small amount of liquid. All done and very easy. Dispose of your empty pipette and if you ave purchased more keep them safely away from children.
The box it comes in also has a space to write the date applied and I also use my diary to make a note of when there next application is due so I don't forget. I usually apply every six weeks and highly recommend this products for cat owners.
Summary: FRONTLINE PREVENTS THE OUTBREAK OF FLEAS ON YOUR CAT AND IN YOUR HOME IN ONE EASY TO USE APPLICATION
