Advantages: !00% natural

Disadvantages: Cat wouldn't eat them

I'm always on the look out for treats to keep Shadow happy, he's an extremely spoilt little cat but like all moggies a fussy little thing too. The Good Girl Ocean treats came as part of a Christmas stocking for cats, not only am I silly enough to buy my cat a stocking but I also did not make him wait for Christmas to open it. I expect the treats on their own will cost about £1 for a 35g packet.

What caught my eye about these treats was the fact that they are made of 100% fish so no colours or fillers in there to upset his sensitive belly. The treats are 100% dried whitebait so would make a nutritious treat for your moggy.

Opening the outer cardboard box, the treats are enclosed in a plastic wrapper. I've got to say it's the uglest cat treat I have ever seen. Each of the individual fishes is around 2 inches long and dried down to a crisp. The fish look like they have some kind of brown coating on them but since they contain 100% fish then that must be the dried skins. The sunken eyes and the fact that they are all different shapes makes it look like some kind of macabre fish graveyard.

When you open the packet the stench hits you. Being 100% fish they of course smell very fishy, kind of a half rotten salty smell, not at all nice. The fish are crispy so it means you can snap them in half.

The cat was very interested in the smell of these and came running out to see what they were. After a bit of playing with them, you know batting them around and pretending he had caught them himself he just ignored them. I've tried to get him to eat them a few times but now he just turns his furry little nose up at them without even playing with them.

Cats are fickle so it's worth trying them for yourself. My cat also turns his nose up at tuna and chicken. If you can stand the smell and if your cat likes them then they are a lot more nutritious than a lot of the cat treats out there.

Summary: Something fishy.

They look and smell awful, don't they? I couldn't stand the crunching noise when our cats bit into them, urggh.
