I thought I would give a quick review on my experience of using a Halti Headcollar. A friend of mine recently inherited a rather boisterous 2 year old Standard Poodle called Ella. Ella had belonged to a relative who had sadly passed away, and whilst she had been much loved and well cared for, she had rarely been taken for walks and wasn’t used to other dogs. Ella was a nightmare on the lead, and being such a strong dog, would drag my poor friend all over the place, even knocking her off her feet once. She would get very excited if she met another dog, and would lunge and bark. All she wanted to do was play, but it would frighten some dogs, and their owners ... Read the complete review

I have a Doberman/Labrador cross and he's almost 14. That's pretty old for a dog but he still doesn't walk without almost pulling my arm out of its socket. I tried all kinds of ways to train him and followed suggestions from the vet about choker chains and the like. The trouble was that nothing seemed to work as he is just too strong for me. Don't get me wrong, I can control him....just! A couple of years ago I saw these Halti Head Collars advertised in a pet shop window and though it might be worth trying one out. The first problem was getting the correct size. A medium one was too tight over his face and a large one slipped up and down. I was ... Read the complete review

Absolutely fantastic! In reference to the poor experiences below: It may have been wise to hold the lead firmly and prevent the dog from getting their head to the ground in the first place. In reference to the pitbull: yes, perhaps it wont work with your dog. I have a psychotic male 75kg Labrador. He pulls and pulls on the lead. We used to have him on a choke chain, but that just feels cruel and can lead to problems in the neck and spine later in life. The Halti is absolutely fantastic! Slip it on, and keep a reasonable grip on the lead. Ensure the dog walks forward with you, and keeps his/her head up. Don't give him or her the slack to stick their ... Read the complete review

wow this piece of equipment is an absolute godsend. I have a 19 month lab who walks quite nicely on a lead but can pull at times, especially when he sees a cat add to this equation a 9 month Golden retriever who is very excitable and can't wait to get to the open grass area, and so pulls like a trooper. Before I bought the halti I could often be seen being taken for a walk by my two dogs rather then me taking them for a walk. The halti is fantastic and as soon as I put it on my Golden retriever he instantly walked nicely beside me, no more sore hands where the lead cut into me trying to stop him from pulling, he walks like he is on his best behaviour at all ... Whats the purpose? My 2 and a half year old Border Collie pulls on her lead. I wanted to stop her from doing this because it's not pleasant for me or her. So I logged online to try and find a solution. I stumbled across this so called miracle Halti collar that stops dogs from pulling in an entirely cruelty free way. Perfect, or so I thought. The Halti Collar is fits on around your dogs nose, under the chin and clips onto your lead, it's supposed to turn your dogs head to the side slightly when they pull, which is such an unnatural thing for a dog that it's supposed to stop them from pulling. Does it work? It came time to use the Halti on ... Read the complete review
