A must have for all exercising pets

Every hamster needs to exercise and getting out of the cage and exploring is what they love to do best.

I picked up my Happy Pet Jogging Ball for about £6, which seemed like quite good value (I believe I picked it up from an independent pet store rather than somewhere more pricey like Pets At Home)

Initially I thought it may have been a little big for my Syrian Hamster as she was young and still quite small, however she took to it instantly and loves whizzing around the room.

There are five pieces in the box, the main 'ball' comes in half and within these halves are the 'lids' which can be removed to let the hamster in before slotting securely into place. An extra section shaped almost like a peace symbol came with my Jogging Ball and it seems to fit on in the 'lid' space, however it leaves it open for the hamster to get out. The packaging came with very little instruction as to what to do with this section so I can only imagine it is to provide more ventilation for a larger pet.

The Ball is made of sturdy feeling plastic which (in my case) is clear with flecks of glitter in, so you can enjoy watching the pet have fun, rather than just enjoy watching a ball zoom around.

The only bad thing I have found about this ball is that while I left my hamster to enjoy it by herself for five minutes she managed to drag some material through some of the ventilation holes and ruined some of my clothes trying to nest in there. She must love it just that much! However, this is as much my fault as hers, as leaving the room probably wasn't the best idea.
