Walk round any supermarket these days and you will find a baffling array of cat food on the shelves. I often see couples down the pet food aisle engrossed in a conversation about which food their precious feline will eat and which it won't. Pet food is big business these days and Whiskas and Felix probably think they have the market pretty well under their control. Being quite a demanding consumer, and having three cats of my own, I do like to find out about the different brands and tend to buy only those that I think are right for my cats. One of my favourite choices is the HiLife pouches. There are very few wet cat foods on the market that can ... Read the complete review

It isn't snobbishness or fussyness that stops my cat eating most types of cat food, in fact, he is such a little piggy that I think he would eat pretty much anything you put infront of him. Unfortunately, he has a very delicate stomach and the majority of cat foods make him throw up. Not only is this horrible for him, it isn't great for the carpets or my stress levels so when we find a food he can cope with, we don't change it for anything! Oh, I should also mention at this point that the types of food he does manage to keep down, always happen to be the very expensive ones - no tesco value for this kitty! So, the first type of food he could manage was Iams ... Read the complete review

From someone who is still relatively new to keeping cats, here's a modest piece of advice. Always, always keep a couple of days worth of pet food in supply for your kitties, because realising you've just served up your last pouch or can of your preferred cat food can cause unnecessary grief. Especially on Sundays, Bank Holidays etc. It might sound obvious, but sometimes we overlook the obvious. Just such an incident occurred with us recently, and it was made even worse by a situation completely out of our control. We normally feed our two adult cats (ages 4 and 8) a diet of locally produced dry food and daily pouches of Nature's Menu cat food. This is a gret ... Read the complete review

My cat is permanently fussy and i'm always on the lookout for anything new that she might agree to eat. I came across Hi Life pouches when they started stocking them in my local tesco, and even though my cat isn't normally keen on fish, I'm running out of things she's not already got bored with so thought i'd give it a try. First impressions on checking the ingredients list were very impressive - the vast majority of wet cat foods, even the much more expensive ones, have a maximum of about 5-10% nutritional content, with the rest made up with fillers of some kind (ash, soya etc). There was nothing in the Hi Life pouches that we couldn't eat ourselves (if we ... Read the complete review

When we got our first cat the idea was we would buy one type of expensive food and the rest of the time try and alter the meals with reasonably priced dry and wet dinners. When we got our second cat several months later the first decided she would play at being put out by not eating anything unless it smelt, looked and tasted (and yes my partner did try several flavours) like real meat or fish. She then decided not to eat anything unless it was swimming in gravy. Until a couple of months ago we got a-hold of HiLife. It was on offer at the time and really anything is worth it once. Since then my little Moomin has eaten much else. I take it in cat language this ... Read the complete review
