Advantages: approved by vets, not a bad smell, cats like it, easy to serve, small pellets for tiny mouths

Disadvantages: rather expensive

Hi! My name is Shady - yes, my stupid mother is an Eminem fan! She writes under the name of Karen(UK) here at Dooyoo and while she's just nipped out, I thought I'd write an opinion myself. After all, it's not often us cats get a chance to have our say.

I have only been living in my new home a few days, but before that I lived with an elderly couple and they had me from being a kitten. I am now three and a half and have always been fed this delicious food. Shame about the not-so-catchy title though - Hill's Science Plan - Veterinary Formulated is rather a mouthful for a puss like me - and it contains the dreaded 'V' word too, ugh!

Anyway, it comes in small brown coloured dry pellets, so it is tiny enough to fit in my delicate mouth and easily crunched. It tastes and smells so much better than that awful tinned stuff, with or without gravy or jelly. Just remember to leave out a constant supply of water (or cat milk), as it can make us poor pussies thirsty.

Being developed by Vets themselves (Ugh, there's that word again!), it means it does not contain all the junk often put in tinned cat food, but is able to provide a balanced diet containing all the protein, vitamins and minerals a growing cat like me needs. After all, who else is going to keep an eye on the local mice, if I'm not able to efficiently perform my duties?

The Original With Chicken variety contains at least 40% chicken, yum yum. My Mum is a vegetarian (No meat, yuck, can you believe it! Good things us cats can't be vegetarian.) and she says dry cat food smells much better than the tinned stuff too - and let's face it, if you can keep your owners happy, you get more cuddles and life is much happier.

The only thing that does slightly annoy my Mum is that the food is quite expensive, as it is £2.99 for a 500g bag, although that lasts about ten days. At our local pet shop, it is only sold in the big bags for £9.99 and t
hat can be a lot to find, when your Mum is only paid wages by Dooyoo!

Hill's do varieties of the food to suit each age group of cat, so you get just the right balance you need for your individual requirements. Being a sprightly, young, fit and beautiful Persian, I definitely want the best food I can and I am pretty impressed with this one. Why? <flicks fur> Because I'm worth it!!

Hello, Shady, will you come and have a word with our cats, 'cos they hate it! It's all they get though, since one had an embarrassing visit to the Podgy Pets Clinic at our vets...

Really liked the fur flicking bit!

Impressive typing for a cat, and a good op.
