Advantages: nice coat

Disadvantages: pricey

Our names are Sammy and James, We are 15 year old black british shorthaired cats and we want to tell you all about this Iams

We have another cat in our house, called smitten but he is quite young and is in bed. Mum has just popped downstairs to put the kettle on so together we are sitting hear ready to tell you about this food she gets for us.

A few weeks ago, we saw that monstrous cat basket come out of the cuboard and we scarpered. That only means one of two things, either we are moving again or she is taking us to the vets. She was cursing as she could not find us and the dogs came looking for us and gave the game away. We ended up in that basket and we were not impressed. 15 mins later we could smell other pets and knew it was the vets and we howled like mad.

She took us into the vets and showed him our fur and how straggly looking it had been. Mum had a bet with her hubby that the vet would give us some tablets and an injection. Sure enough he did. Allergy to fleas take this. Give mum her dues, she does speak her mind and said rubbish. We laughed in our baskets. Mum uses front line for fleas and a house spray, only the best and refused to accept this. After muttering a few choice words to her self we were back in the car and on our way home.

Now we are indoor cats now and we have great pleasure in using the litter tray when they are about to cook. She who must be obeyed is not impressed with this. Our fir is missing everywhere on our tails and backs and she cuddles us and gets upset as we used to have such lovely fur.

Well a few weeks a go, she came back with this 3kg bag of food, was not our normal brand so we will try and explain it to you.

Packaging
---------

Senior 7+ Iams 3kg, in a purple bag. On the front it has Iams saying its good for heart, activity, mmm poos and teeth. Also there is a big paw print on it, now if that were my paws these must belong to a tiger. This flavour is chicken,
they only do chicken for us older cats. On the back of the packets and the site is all different languages as they must export to a lot of countries. Uner the UK bit there is the helpline number and also the ingriedients are listed.
There is also a feeding guide there as well. This is pracically all that there is on the packet.

Feeding instructions
--------------------

2-3kg cats have 20-35g of food
3-4.5kg have 35-50g of food
4-5.7kg have 50-75g of food

It also state that you must introduce this with your normal food over a couple of days and that you must also have water out when you are feeding us dry food.

It states that you should feed half in the morning and half at night. Well to be honest mum feeds us at 5pm on the dot every day and we nibble througout the day and night at our will. This works well until the dogs get a sniff of it and they tend to help themselves occassionally.

The taste
---------

Now ok you humans love taste and texture and it is very hard to describe this to you. When you open the plastic bag there is a strong smell of only what I can describe as dry pet food. It does not smell of chicken but it is little round circles of food and boy does it taste mighty fine. Mum can not understand why we love it so much.

Well today mum walks in with the new bag and we all shout the Iams is here. We run over to the feeding table and smash one of our cat bowls. Whoops mum is not impressed and then goes to pick it up and trips over the dog and the bag goes everywhere and the dogs get a free lunch. After a lot of cussing yet again we get our tea and we eat it and mmmmm its so nice.

What is different about it
--------------------------

Well first of all mum says our mmm sorry for this poos are not runny and smelly any more and they are now firm stool. Funny I sit on a stool and it is always firm, never mind.

It also keeps the condition of your t
eeth in order and keeps our breath smelling of roses, ok then maybe of chicken but its healthier.

It looks after our heart. Do not forget we are pensioners and after the age of 7 our metabolism slows down and our food has to change.

Activity, this is what drives our mum mad, before Iams we were growing old peacefully. With Iams we are driving her crackers, we have become very active and are bouncing around everywhere and even taking on those pesky dogs.

Does it work
------------

Oh boy yes it does, we have our fur growing back and we have put on weight as well as mum felt we were getting a bit too skinny.

She also thought she was been clever by putting the litter tray outside and opening the kitchen window near our table so we could go out. In fact all we did was go through the back door and found the litter tray outside and pooed there for all the neighbour hood to see. Our poos have become solid and dont smell as much.

Our breath is a lot fresher and we have become very active to the point she thinks she has got a couple of kittens lol. Even the younger kitten tries and nibbles this, the cheek of it, robbing us of our food. We claim pensioners rights.

I am glad mum challenged the vets and decided to buy us this. It is so yummy. Within a coupl of weeks, our fur had grown back and our weight had gone up slightly in a controlled sort of way. Now we are the perfect size.
