Great quality food - keeps our dogs good and healthy (James Wellbeloved)

Advantages: Always eaten up, variety of flavours and widely available

We have two dogs (retrievers so they are a good size), the first of which arrived with us being used to Iaims We did stick with Iaims for the first dog for a while but then he seemd to just go off it and required a great deal of coaxing and gravy to eat it. When we spoke to our vet, she recommend James Wellbeloved complete dog food and so we thought we'd give it a go. There is a good range of flavours and they are available in large and small bags so you can mix and match. We started ours on the puppy food and he took to it straight away and moved up through the various other grades (young adult and adult). He has always had a healthy coat, good teeth and maintained a good weight.

Our second was previously used to chicken and pilchards and the like. Given that we are not of a mind to give our dogs more meat than we eat obviously the chicken diet was out of the question. Also, it made sense if they both at the same and so we went with James Wellbeloved for him too. After a period of mixing to switch him over gently, we noticed that his skin and coat were massively improved (he had been very dandruff-y before) and he too has maintained a great weight, teeth, coat and digestive health.

The kibble is available in regular and large breed size and although has enough smell to entice the dogs, it is not overpowering enough to turn your stomach when you are giving them breakfast.

From what I have seen, it doesn't cost any more than the other premium brands (Hills, Burns, Iaims etc) and if you shop around online there are always a few discount deals. We buy ours in 15kg bags and get them delivered to the door three at a time which is much preferred to lugging them out of the pet shop.

I would highly recommend it as it seems to give our dogs all they need to keep in tip top shape!
