As much as I love my dog Sheba, there are times when she absolutely stinks. Its not that she doesn't wash herself, in fact she pays a great deal of attention to her coat and it shines beautifully. But at the end of the day she is a dog and likes to get up to doggy deeds, like rolling in sheep poop and other such filthy delights and racing about getting hot and sweaty in general. So from time to time she has to have a bath. She doesn't really enjoy having one, it's not half as fun as playing with the hosepipe after all, or having a swim in the river or sea but she does tolerate it well.
