Walking my dogs in the early evening, a while ago, I saw a strange apparition heading toward us. From way across the local field something was heading straight for us and it was moving fast, if not a little haphazardly. The twinkling lights flashed away and I was totally puzzled when all of a sudden a huge, but friendly, labrador appeared out of the darkness. The owner followed a short time later. I live close to an old airfield that was turned back into a common so that we could all enjoy it. Trouble is that it is absolutely huge,comes complete with gorse bushes, heather, high bracken, woods, deep pits filled with water, small ponds, and cows. I purchased one of these after a lucky escape. My dog ran back home one dark evening it was so dark that I couldn’t see him before he ran and he had never ran off before. I live on a very busy main road so was happy to see him sitting on the doorstep when I returned. He attempted it a few time after but I could see where he was going with the collar on.
