I purchased one of these after a lucky escape. My dog ran back home one dark evening it was so dark that I couldn’t see him before he ran and he had never ran off before. I live on a very busy main road so was happy to see him sitting on the doorstep when I returned. He attempted it a few time after but I could see where he was going with the collar on.

The collar is made of that highly reflective material traffic police wear. And has 5 red flashing lights spaced around. A battery is situated on the inside, safely tucked away in a waterproof pouch. Mine has lasted the 6 months over the winter and is still going strong and I have left it on overnight a few times. It takes the flat batterys (no pun intended) sbout the size of a 10p

This is an additional collar that fastens around the neck of your dog using Velcro strap. It is worth pointing out that Velcro also likes longer haired dogs, especially those with floppy ears as it tends to attach itself to the fur, its is not terrible problem just a minor annoyance.

On a dark night with no other lights around, you can see your dog by the flashing lights on the collar up to 100m away, but again this can be reduced by the amount of hair your dog has and the angle the dog is standing to you. If there is any light shining near your dog then the whole collar reflects yellow this is very visible.

I would recommend the collar to anyone who walks their dog at night in an area with no lights.

Its one of them simple ideas that work and you wish you thought of there is very little more to it.
