Advantages: Our cat wants seconds.
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest.
My parents enjoy telling the story of when I first started to crawl as a baby that they found me eating the cat’s KiteKat. This has obviously left it’s mark, and apart from when I sharpen my claws on the furniture and chase mice, I find that when I am in a supermarket buying cat food I am always drawn to KiteKat. I know this is not the cheapest cat food available, but I still think of it as the best, so it is worth paying that bit extra for. Nowadays I have given up eating the food myself, but the cat does really seem to enjoy this brand. When we first got our cat everybody seemed to advise us that if we started our cat off with cheap cat food it would get used to it and be happy with the cheaper brands. This was just not the case. The cat (Pebbles) just would not eat the cheap brands and would miaow and miaow until we gave in and finally fed him with a better brand. We have tried various brands over the years but it is still KiteKat that he will always eat with the most enthusiasm and often want “seconds”. Although he will sometimes eat other brands they do often make him sick and that we definitely do not want. Our cat is now 13 years old and eats one can of food each day. At 47p each this means that so far he has cost us over £2000. I wish I hadn’t worked that out now! Does anybody want to buy a cat? Obviously having a cat (or any pet) is a financial commitment, but he is a member of the family and if we are going to take responsibility for a pet then we should feed him a food he will enjoy and not just look at the price. If KiteKat was good enough for me, it must be good enough for Pebbles.
