When recently perusing the zooplus website for a treat for Simba I came across the Valerian bag. Although Simba enjoys catnip treats he has never responded to catnip filled toys. Zoo plus calimed that no cat or kitten can resist the aroma of the pillow and so I wanted to see if Simba would respond to it. A couple of days later the large box of treats I ordered for simba arrived. When I came to open it he became very animated and interested in the box. I found it very difficult to get into the box as he was jumping all over it and trying to find a way in himself. As soon as one flap was open he dived in headfirst to root around. Last week I read a review by Tracy 1127 about Kwayze Katz Valerian Body Pillows and I thought they sounded like something that Mew would love. Catnip, which as we all know, drives cats wild has absolutely no effect on Mew so I thought Valerian might succeed where catnip had failed. I hotfooted - or should that be hotfingered - over to EBay to check these out. I found them for sale at a cost of £2.99 for two plus 65p for postage within the UK. It's a well known fact that not all cats respond to catnip. This is apparently hereditary. My two boys do respond to catnip very nicely thank you very much but I've been pondering valerian for a while now. The fact is that catnip lovers may or may not respond to valerian, just because a cat doesn't like catnip does not mean they will like valerian either so there are no guarantees. The chemicals in each plant that make cats giddy are different so they may or may not like either or both.
