      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A great addition to an outdoor pet cage.

After recently purchasing a Lazybones 303 hutch and run, I noticed that due to the amount of rain we had been experiencing that the bottom of my rabbits cage was very wet and as he liked spending a lot of his time on the bottom level I wanted to try and keep him as dry as possible.

One of my friends had mentioned that she had rabbit hutch covers and that they keep the rabbit dry and warm through the winter months so I set about searching on ebay for one to fit my cage and noticed there were not many lazybones branded covers available.

After visiting all our local pet stores I still had not located a cover for my hutch and set about searching the world wide web and finally I located one via the Unicorn Pet Centre for £26.99 which included postage.
As I wanted one a little sooner, I tried one last store to find the cover and lo and behold they had one but at a cost of £31.99 so I decided to order it from the web instead.

5 days later and a small package arrived, the cover itself was contained within a small carry bag with the lazybones logo on the front, this was ideal as in the summer months I would be able to store it away safely without it getting damaged.

The cover only comes in green but is made of waterproof material that also insulates the cage.

There is a long zip that is to the middle of the rear of the cover and really it is a 2 person job so I held one side of the cover and my husband the other and with a bit of a struggle we managed to zip it around the cage.

The sides have the waterproof covering but at the bottom there are two mesh panels which when you roll up the waterproof covering it allows the air to escape and circulate along the bottom of the cage.

At the front of the cover is a clear plastic window that enables your pet to look out and for daylight to enter the hutch. Each of the panels unzip to allow them to be held back and for the rabbit to have fresh air enter into the cage.

There is a small pocket to the top of the cover that covers the living area which allows you to store the water bottle and for it to be covered which in the really cold months will help prevent the water from freezing in the water bottle.

Overall the cover is very secure once on and my rabbit loves it as everytime I lift the panels up he seems to hide away in his bedroom area as if he is snug as a bug in a rug and doesn't want there to be a draught.

Since having the cover the rabbit has been really dry and seems to be a lot warmer and happer, the clear window panels are easy to wipe down which is handy as the bottom panels do get a little dirty as the rabbit uses that area to go to the toilet and you have to empty his litter tray quite often as the smell builds up a lot quicker with the cover being on.

By having the cover I hope that not only is my pet going to be warmer and happier but it will help me to maintain the hutch a little longer and to protect it from the elements this winter and if you have a pet that you keep outside I cannot recommend that you get a cover enough they are well worth investment.
