Advantages: Hard wearing, great fun for them, and for you to watch!

Disadvantages: Loud squeak cant be turned off! lol

This toy is a simple one, but a very good one! It is a small base with a spring attached to it, on the spring there is a grey mouse with a squeaking noise inside it. When the cat bats the mouse it will swing and spring around, mimicking a darting mouse and also make a noise which is quite loud and fairly realistic.

I purchased this toy for my cats when they were kittens (over a year ago now) from Wilkinson for £3.99. It came flat packed and was very easy to assemble just consisting of you having to screw the base onto the spring (which already had the mouse attached).

As soon as I set it up my cats loved playing with it. Either batting it and running away, or really attacking it. One of the great things about this toy is that the base is covered in a carpet type material which allows the cats to scratch and bite it without ruining it.

This is one of the toys that my cats do still play with over a year later. It has stood the test of time well and is only slightly battered. The mouse noise has stopped, but to be honest I am not sad about that as when they started playing with it at 2am, I knew about it!. Having said that, it hasn't stopped them playing with it, I think the movement of the mouse is the best thing about it. The fact that they don't know which way it will swing if they hit it.

Dylan, one of my cats, absolutely loves this toy, and even though it is quite heavy, he drags it around via the mouse and gives it to me. I'm not 100% sure what he wants me to do with it as he normally does this with balls to throw, I just think he is sharing his favourite mouse toy.

In summary, I think this toy is a great buy. It is sturdy and is still enjoyed by my cats a year later, which is a bargain!
