Advantages: She eats them

Disadvantages: They look quite dry

This week i'm looking after my parents dog Poppy as you will probably know if you have read a couple of my other reviews. I do tend to spoil her when I am looking after her mainly because she is so upset about Mum and Dad being away.

This week I opted for Markies which I found in Morrisons priced at £1.51 for a 500g box. The price was really good for the amount you get in each box. I bought these last Thursday and the box doesn't even look like it's been touched.

I thought this would be a good treat that she would absolutely love. She is quite a fussy dog when it comes to food but loves her treats.

Looking at the box you can tell straight away it's pedigree as it is bright yellow. The pedigree logo is also very visible right at the top on the front of the box. There is also pictures of the Markies biscuit that do look attractive as a dogs treat.

What are they?

Well they are a meaty centre that is then covered in a crunchy biscuit. The meaty centre is actually real marrowbone which is good for your dog because it contains a natural source of calcium and phosphorus. This helps to keep your dogs bones and teeth strong.

To me they do look a bit dry compared to other treats that seem to have a bit of moisture in them. For this reason I wouldn't like to give them to a dog daily or even give her too many a day.

Does Poppy like them?

When I first gave her one she sniffed it and walked off. I left it on the floor and she came back a couple of minutes later and ate it. Poppy eating anything is a bonus so I would say they went down really well.

I use them for training her sometimes. She's very good at sitting, giving her paw and lying down but that's as far as it goes to be honest. If I wanted to teach her anymore I would use these as an incentive to get her to do it.

Overall

They seem to be a good healthy treat that Poppy enjoys and it is something I would buy for her again as a treat.

Summary: Perfect for training
